Ivanka Trump has been involved in discussions with the World Bank about establishing a funding operation that would support female entrepreneurs, bank and administration officials said Wednesday.
The officials stressed that nothing has been set up yet and that talks are ongoing about how this would be set up. They said it could be structured as a World Bank-run "facility," which accepts contributions from governments and private donors and then provides funding and support to women in developing countries.
According to a senior administration official, Trump recently pitched the idea to World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, who then discussed it with other leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Merkel touted the effort at a Berlin event this week attended by Ivanka Trump.
Kim said in a statement that they are "working with partners on the details around creating a facility for women's economic empowerment." He praised "the leadership Ms. Trump and Chancellor Merkel have demonstrated on this important issue."
The administration official, who sought anonymity because the project is in its early stages, said Trump would have no official authority over the fund and would not solicit contributions, but would be a "strong advocate."(continued)

I am impressed with the young lady, at least Ivanka does something other than talk or wear silly pink hats...she truly puts her money where her mouth is.
It would be better for people to fund entrepreneurship in their own countries, and to make that funding just as available to men as it is to women, instead of indulging in sexist bigotry that excludes men.
Where’s the part in this story that says it’s going to be an Ivanka-run foundation, just like the Clinton Foundation?
Maybe the story has ‘evolved’ because Trump-haters have been putting the worst possible spin on it.

From what I have seen this was cooked up as a good idea..and then legalities started to enter into it with smarter heads prevailing saying this is a horrible idea..
From what I’ve seen it’s all been nasty leftist gossip. There hasn’t been a quote from Ivanka in any of the stories. Just the usual Trump-haters—most of them funded by Soros—passing unsubstantiated rotgut around.
If dems want to fight they could ask for a hearing to determine if ivanka did ,in fact ,secure committments as mike allen claims he was told.

I’m not an Ivanka fan. But I’m even less of a fan of spreading Trump-hating leftist gossip. That’s what most of this is. The only actual facts so far is that the World Bank is considering a fund—that they would administer—to help women entrepreneurs. That’s it.
