I doubt it. I think the Left is worried they’ve allowed a monster to start growing. The public sees Antifa for who and what they are.....and dims know it points to them.

Is this the same mayor who is associated with By Any Means Necessary, which is just like antifa, just another name. Just yesterday he was urging that the Free Speech Week by cancelled, giving antifa a win without having to engage in as much mayhem as usual. I don’t believe anything this man says, he’s just trying to distance himself because he knows that the majority of people don’t like rioters and arsonists.
The left understands that they have gone way too far and that the silent majority is tired of all the BS. The left understands that the lies told by the FAKE NEWS Media are no longer getting any traction with the general public.
They are going to have to be much more careful now.

Oh, and their uniforms are not like Militia uniforms, except that they are similar in appearance to each other. They don’t resemble a militia at all. Militias tend to be organized and disciplined with a chain of command.

Not once have I ever heard of militia members take a plastic water bottle of piss to a protest to pour on their adversaries. Not once. They don’t fling their own shit at people like monkey’s and Antifa does either.

Actually, that process is just now getting started. I asked five people two weeks ago, people who are generally informed, and none could identify what antifa was.
And remember, the mainstream press is still not willing to call antifa out for its actions so everyone getting their news from them is still likely to be ignorant. Not to mention all the people who pay no attention to news generally.
Try a little survey of your own. It will be revealing, especially if you ask people who aren’t watching Fox part of the day.

word has gone out this week on the leftist tom-tom network to condemn these thugs, and more importantly, to signal their financial backers to back off. there’s been a series of articles from major leftist “news” sources in the last week with headlines like “Antifa Anarachists Attack Peaceful Right-Wing Demonstrators”.
WaPo just had an article like that as did the San Fran Chronic, and I’m sure many others.
And now these crocodile tears from the guy who ordered his police to stand down and LET the terrorists jump the barriers.
