NFL’s Actions During National Anthem are Despicable, Time to Tune Out
The Revolutionary Act ^ | 9/24/17 | Rep. Julio Gonzalez

Posted on 09/24/2017 12:29:40 PM PDT by Liberty7732

The actions of NFL players kneeling or sitting or raising their fist during the National Anthem are untenable.

The refusal of some players to join in solidarity with their teammates and fans in honor of the country responsible for every one of their freedoms is nothing short of disgraceful. The stated excuse of a call for social justice is both lame and ill-founded and honestly, rings unbelievably hollow. For months, football fans have languished over the continued divisiveness and disrespect exhibited by these players and the further insult from the league in not putting a stop to this despicable behavior.

The conflict finally came to a head Friday when President Trump called out those players while at a rally in Alabama.

But instead of acknowledging the problem, the NFL has decided to double down on its position.

In a statement, NFL Commissioner, Roger Gooddell, said, “The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture. There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we’ve experienced over the last month. Divisive comments like [those of President Trump] demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”

Only problem is that from day one of this issue the NFL has refused to be a force for good. On the contrary, by refusing to demand that its players stand for the National Anthem, the NFL has fostered only strife and divisiveness — which it ironically claims to want to create — and continued to disrupt any fragile sense of unity our nation presently has. Indeed, it is Gooddell and the NFL that refuse to understand the overwhelming force for good that honoring our flag and our history is for our nation and our community. And, of course, in doubling down on its position, the NFL now finds itself in the untenable position of having to continue to defend an indefensible act.

Like any business, the NFL lives or dies by its income, and their continued disrespect for these sacred American symbols will continue to hurt it. A 2016 leaked memo expressed the NFL’s concern of its 11% drop in viewership. The same memo dismissed any association with the revolting behavior of its players, but a similarly timed Rasmussen poll seemed to indicate otherwise.

Julio Gonzalez for State Representative This brings us to today. For those of us who care about our flag, our nation, our history, and our National Anthem, it will be a day when we will have no choice but to turn the TV off on Sunday afternoon, or better yet, spend some extra time at church. For others, the opportunity to leave the stadium immediately following the playing of the National Anthem if just one of those players kneels during its playing (which they undoubtedly will in record numbers) will be well worth the price of admission.

Unfortunately, neither the NFL nor the players care for anything other than the continued fiscal stability of its mammoth conglomerate. Today, it’s time to let them know, that none of us, including overpaid employees of the National Football League, is greater than our nation’s flag, its Anthem, or the Country. And the best way to communicate that message is with our wallets and by directing our attentions elsewhere.

Just do a search for “Lesean McCoy” and the video will be at the top of the search results. I refuse to link to it.

OK, now I’m confused — Is standing with your arms linked supposed to be the same as kneeling or sitting? Or is doing that a counter-protest to the kneelers and sitters?

Goodel, the owners, and the NFL league in particular all suffer from the same deasease....LAKACOJONES!!

They butt kiss, coddle, and make excuses, for the overpaid slugs and thugs who disrespect America and what the country stands for. It’s kind of asanine to watch some players who are being payed millions whine and snivel over societies ills, many of which have existed for decades and some of which are self inflicted.

Here’s my take on what all this politicization of pro football is really all about. Take a look at the mostly empty football stadiums in Los Angeles with the Chargers and Rams. That is the future of the NFL located in cities with an Hispanic and Black population base that are more interested in soccer and today lack the money to afford the recreational luxury of NFL football viewing, attendance and patronage. So the owners must join forces with the players to “re-position” the market for pro football to Hispanics and low income Black populations, as the working class has been wiped out from places like Los Angeles and shifted to China. The market base for NFL football has always been the working class (think Pittsburgh “Steelers”). However, in LA the USC Trojan football team gets greater attendance because it has wider appeal to white collar and middle class as well.

It is time to go after the giant corporations that advertise on NFL games. Here is one, Quaker Oats which is owned by Pepsi. Read the fine print on the packages at the grocery store. Quaker Oats sells Aunt Jemima pancake mix. Do not buy Aunt Jemima pancake mix. There is another brand on the same aisle that has a name ending in “K”. They do not give a dime to the NFL.

No more tax dollars for new stadiums and let them spend their money. Quit watching all this propaganda, soap opera crap. These so-called athletes are richer than most of the people that pay for their salaries! Most of them can barely read or write. That is why they are broke in 5 years after retirement! Being used to do the socialist’s agenda! Quit watching and eventually it will end the BLM-NFL!

Add all the NFL teams together and you have $63 billion.

Like The Joker apparently they have decided to pile all that up in a big pyramid and then set it on fire.

Hope it’s worth it, but I doubt it.

Stop watching the game and the players will get the message soon enough.

As Trump continues his attacks, NFL players protest by kneeling or locking arms

http://www.latimes.com/sports/nfl/la-sp-nfl-players-protest-trump-20170924-story.html

It’s another form of protest - the NFL Jihad against the flag.

Last night I posted the link to file a complaint to NFL operations. Today I noticed that part of dropdown options has been removed.

They don’t want to hear about their anti-American stance and it is. There is absolutely no reason to disrespect our flag in that way. Apparently, they don’t want to hear about it by taking down that part of the link. My guess is this is backfiring bigly on them and it needs to.

I see the NFL wants to push the narrative of respecting the diversity of opinion. What the idiots don’t get is that has no place when it comes to disrespecting our flag and the freedom and liberties it stands for. Diversity of opinion does not include anti-American ways nor should it ever is what those idiots don’t get. At least we know they are hearing our displeasure if they are taking away our ability to complain to them. There is other ways to contact them but it’s not directly to NFL Operations as that has been taken down.

Hangin’ around in the locker room eh? Do they think nobody will notice them conspicuously absent during National Anthem flyovers and other such demonstrations of respect? I quit watching them for a myriad of other reasons already but like many folks on this forum I’m enjoying the NFL seppuku demonstration.

Giants Odell Beckham just made a touchdown, and I couldn’t believe what he just did. I had to rewind. After the touchdown, he crawled on the Eagles’ field and lifted his leg like a dog would do when urinating.

Here’s a video! It sure didn’t take long for someone to post it!

And Odell Beckham of the Giants gave a black power fist salute after scoring a touchdown. I hope at least they booed him in Philadelphia.
