Nearly 100 pastors and community leaders plan to hold a “Kneel-In” protest outside Bank of America Stadium before the start of the Carolina Panthers-Philadelphia Eagles NFL football game on Thursday night.

The protest intends to highlight ongoing police brutality and social and racial injustice, just as former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick did while the national anthem was played before a 2016 NFL game, Bishop Kevin Long of Temple Church International-Charlotte told the Observer.

“These things have yet to be properly addressed in our judicial system and the like,” Long said.

This I don't care about. They are doing it before the game which is perfectly acceptable. Doing it during the National Anthem is not at all.

“These things have yet to be properly addressed in our judicial system and the like,”

What “things” and what does “properly addressed” mean?

That guy who dresses as Jesus and wanders around Love Park in Philadelphia ought to wait until these pastors are all on their knees and then walk in front of them with a large cross.

Recently, there were two SIGNIFICANT instances in Utah.

First, a nurse being arrested for following correct procedure.

Then the shooting of a man with warrants outstanding.

I assume, if the fugitive was armed, he could have turned and fired on the police officers.

Also, the fugitive was apparently STRONG enough to pull away from police.

But is that a reason to shoot a person in the back.

May need better police training in Utah.

“ I was an Eagles fan since boyhood”
Me too, I had the same experience saw my only game at Franklin field, it was so damn cold, this guy next to us pulled this transitor radio, suddenly he’s fiddling with the side volume knob, it comes off and he looks at me winks and takes a big swig, We we’re playing a new league expansion team The Dallas Cowboys with Danny Don as QB. I can’t even remember who won. Never saw them at the Vet either.

hope a bunch of counter protesters show up and dress in a way that will make hilarious photos with all the people kneeling in front of them. Maybe as The Pope? A Band Conductor, etc? What else?

I fail to see your point. Two instances among millions or encounters, most of which are correctly handled. Better police training? More and better training is always good, but that doesn’t solve the individual’s response to police when those individuals are raised and trained to hate authority and police. When police encounter that, something will always happen and more training will not always defuse the situation. That’s my point — there as much responsibility to defuse the situation on the individual as on the police. Add to that the crap lies of hands up don’t shoot that is believed in the black community and pushed by democrats and you have added fuel to the fire which no training will always defuse.

Just that the last two significant police problems were in Utah. Maybe it is just an anomaly.

There are thousands and thousands of arrests everyday with no problem.

Looks like some are going all-in on using the NFL as their protest vehicle - meaning the NFL keeps getting more unwanted publicity than the issues they are supposedly protesting....looks like Colin may have been the fuse that detonated the NFL into oblivion....ironic

So whose gonna start the NFL petition to demand that a particular month of the year be set aside to recognize the problems of fathering children out of wedlock?
