This is actually quite an encouraging development.
I half-expected Macron to tweet out a screed declaring that the vast majority of sexual predators are peace-loving members of society and that the actions of one lone-wolf sexual predator should not tar the image of all sexual predators and that any anti-sexual-predator backlash will be worse than the actual act of sexual predation and will not be tolerated.
