The NFL is experiencing an unprecedented backlash as players kneel during the National Anthem. The boycott is so bad that the Cleveland Browns, which gives away prizes to fans during games, selected an empty seat for a giveaway.
[Snip]
It is not known what the prize was, but whatever it was, its quite sad the team has resorted to keeping fans happy at FirstEnergy stadium with giveaways. What's even more sad is that the seat was empty. Several NFL stadiums are nearly empty post kick-off as the National Anthem controversy rolls into week 7. The Cleveland Browns are playing at home against the Tennessee Titans. Plenty of seats went unfilled.

I've enjoyed the NFL more this season than ever before ...
Looking back on the 2017 season, the empty seat will be the leagues MVP.
The most valueless player...
Haha. Lifelong suffering Browns fan. Oh sure the Brian Sipe, Bernie Kodak years were fun but this is just an awesome picture.
I was so hard core, while living in Dallas I banned the NFL from my house when the NFL let that fag Modell move to Baltimore. Hopefully he’s burning in a vat of feces these days. Not that I was bitter. Maybe now since my give a crap meter is low I can forgive that asshole.
that's 1 of the problems with all the money they are suddenly making, it can make people more into fools & give them a sense of power & entitlement that they are better then everyone else.
nfl looking like the wnba....
Is it me ...or has the discussion of the NFL and concussions died down a lot i the past month or so? It appears that nanny state liberals now have to root for the NFL despite the brain damage caused to its players.
“And the fans that don’t want to come to the game? I mean. OK. Bye,”
— Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walke

Dittos here. Started collecting football cards in 1959 when I was 7. Went so see Jim Brown & got his autograph when I was still in grade school. Was mad as all get out when my sixth grade teacher signed on the same page.
My father was a truck driver and was still able to afford season tickets in what became the Dawg Pound for the 1962 - 1964 seasons for himself and I. I was at the 1964 Championship game. I watched the red right 88 game on television in 1981 and was at the double overtime playoff game against the Jets in 1986 and was there the next week for the drive. I will go to my grave swearing that the game winning field-goal was wide right. Of course, that was back when I cared.
Back then I usually watched whatever games that were on television. I saw the first Monday Night Football broadcast and watched just about every week, then the Great Satan Modell moved the team.
Just to set the record straight on the revisionist history of the move as told by Mike Trivisono, (Modell had no choice), in the early spring of 1995 the whole front office of the Browns held a press conference on the 50 yard line to announce a $100 million dollar remodeling of the old stadium. He specifically said that he didn’t want a new stadium and we never got a chance to vote on it.
What we got in November was a leak that the team was moving.
That news was not to have been announced until the end of the season. As a result Browns fans all over the country mobilized against the nfl. We still had BBS back then and Freenet was abuzz with the latest news. In a nutshell, the private fax numbers of nfl headquarters and teams got out and the sheer volume of faxes from outraged fans amounted to a denial of service attack that crippled communications within the league. Fans also protested at games throughout the rest of the country. Finally the nfl had enough and they told our mayor to call off the dogs or the city would never have another pro football team, which told us between the lines that we would be getting a new team. We then lobbied to keep the name, records and colors and won that.
So what did we get? An expansion team that sucks as bad as something can suck and it has since they returned in 1999.
As for me, I had it with the nfl. I didn’t watch any games in the three years after they left and when they returned I watched the Browns but nothing else. This year I don’t even bother with them. I just don’t care anymore and believe me, I sure used to.
ALL very major and dynamic events seem to disappear and go down a rabbit hole.
They did a pretty good job at getting Sandy Hoax off the airwaves and Las Vegas is back open for business.
ISIS has training camps in the USA and every administration back to, but excluding Reagan seems to have been in power for the sole purpose of destroying the USA.
There are still a lot of people going to games.
Here in CT they still beat on Sandy Hoax like a drum.
Sometimes I think the dead kids had a thousand mommies and daddies for all the press interviews that are out there.
The fake charities still pop up like daisies in the Spring.
I’m guessing that the NFL’s interest in Europe, specifically the UK, will lead to one of the financially strapped small market teams relocating over there. I would guess London to be the first....
Most likely the Jaguars. Shad Kahn may be very good at distributing his off shore auto parts but he doesn’t know a damned thing about customer service.
That picture is prior to the opening kickoff. By halftime there were more people in the seats. Late-arriving crowd. There were still plenty of empty seats but they were all in the club/upper bowl levels. It was nowhere near a full house.
That NFL decision gave conservatives a rare opportunity to take a whack at Black Lives Matter and the manipulations of Obamas collusion with the media Instead pundits are letting the media divert that direction to cum bye ja and a dozen other directions. Because it diverts the focus
away from media complicity.
The problem here is not connecting the dots to the democrats who created racial divisuon when Obama through the abuse of his office and the Bully Pulpit began creating victims out of blacks engaged in criminal activities who were not just resisting legal arrest but responding by attacking legal authority and endangering their lives .
Until this get exposed along with its political purposes which was creating racial division and a impeachable proof barrier as the continung political discourse which has been expanded to include white guilt will continue.
When blame the cops for cold blooded killings started by Obamas it was through his use of the Bully Pulpit. It began with his comments during the Zimmerman trial.
Those inspired at least 10* deadly assaults ending in death of any non black who wandered near or in hoods controlled by members cf black ganags. One such noteable case is that of Christopher Lane an Australian murdered by Crypts while visiting Duncan Oklahoma.*(At the time the media avoided any reference made to For Trayvon reason given in those murders by the culprits mainly gang members. Of the I think the figure (10)is more like 20 racially inspired murders)
Obama was never held accountable for his inflamatory remarks. And because he wasnt he contunued hammering away creating a wider racial division targeting police authority which resulted in cops being targeted and murdered in cold blood.
Former Mlwaukee County Sheriff David Clark appeared on FOX Business to discuss not only Chicago but also the anti-American NFL protests against the American flag and the National Anthem.

That's true, but it doesn't that they are all spending to the hilt for tickets/beer/concessions/NFL gear. What I'm waiting to see is the announced Salary Cap for the 2018 season which should be right after the Super Bowl. Instead of a 10%-15% increase I want to see a drop of at least 10%. Watch the panic ensue if that happens.
A real dilemma considering that brain damage turns otherwise normal people into liberals . . .
I suspect that would be happening at Browns games even without the take-a-knee stuff going on.
For the first time in MY life, a football game started with a whistle and a kickoff.
No Anthem or opening of any kind.
I never saw that before.
THAT was what nagged me when I was trying to watch against my stated conviction to never watch again.
Addiction is a bitch.
