A gunman opened fire inside the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs on Sunday, killing and injuring multiple people, authorities said

The shooting suspect has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelley, CBS News has learned

The Connally Memorial Medical Center said "multiple" victims are being treated

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said they were responding to the shooting.

An FBI crisis response team is also on the scene, a law enforcement official said

Officials will hold a press conference that will be live on CBSN; watch in the player above

He cares about children, eh? He shot and killed a 5 year old. Also the 14 year old daughter of the church's pastor. I think a 2 year old was shot and wounded as well.

Boston Marathon radio traffic must have reported 15 different suspected IEDs under bridges until they went to code. Then ordered to cellphones only and silence.

Vegas, multiple shooters on airport runways, different hotels, then silence.

Just silence on this one. Hard not to read something into all these at this point.

If you mean literal radio silence, as I said I don’t imagine there is much of anything to be streamed.

But overall, I agree, the authorities aren’t be as forthcoming as they should be. I wouldn’t expect some info to be released for awhile, e.g. the names of the victims, but they should be able to confirm or deny facts that have already been widely reported.

Me, I’m still waiting for them to come up with one story the can all agree on re: the Los Vegas massacre.

As it should be, especially for bible-believing churches. Liberal denominations have much less of a chance of being attacked, but they should have similar protection anyway.
