Last November, every state solidly in the Dem column was immediately called for Hillary.

Meanwhile, states like TX and KS were delayed for awhile, and you may recall it took them forever to call Georgia.

I voted at a solidly GOP precinct. No line. My gut feel is that light turnout generally favors GOP — because light turnout means uninteresting election and Dems are too lazy to bother.

I dont know why the dumb ass media says this is a referendum on President Trump..Virginia went to Obama TWICE and Hillary Clinton in 2016, its a Democrat state why would people think a Republican stands a chance

Thanks, much for the info on the retiring/not returning to House GOP Reps. Good news, overall. Praying we have good, conservative candidates, in the wings.

LOL...every election, since Trump was elected (one year ago) has been a “referendum on Trump”.

They keep getting pounded over their heads, but keep grasping for this ‘referendum’.

Like you said....VA has been a Dim state (granted, no doubt helped w/ by FRAUD), so....if Gillespie wins are the media suddenly going to claim Trump greatest kingmaker, dealmaker POTUS and person of ALLLLLLL time?

Nah, I doubt it :-)

Yeah, but...
Ed should do better in the NOVA area- that’s why the RINO was chosen after all.
And most places simply have more voters than they did in 2013.

Still, I’d rather be celebrating better news.

I figured he didnt stand a chance of winning anyway..first of its for a Governor position. I heard yesterday that history is NOT on Gillespie’s side, because Virginia is a Democrat state(Went for Obama twice, Hillary Clinton also won Virginia pretty easily from what I remember) and also, every President in office..the Virginia Governor’s race has gone for the opposite team

early exits say 52-48 or 53-47 from CNN... late voting could be closer for Gillespie

Well, exit polls a year ago told us the Witch was going to win, too.

I find that interesting. Reading reports here, everyone is saying that turnout is light. Who is manufacturing all these votes?????

I never heard of exit polls being released before the polls close; there is over an hour left for voting.

For reasons I cannot quite understand, the returns from NoVa (the DC suburbs such as Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, etc.) always come in late. Why? Just because there are more votes to count? How, then, is it that Philadelphia’s returns are always among the first to report in Pennsylvania?

Well, whatever, it’s a well-established and predictable trend. The NoVa vote, which will be strongly for Northam, will be reported late. Gillespie should lead early, but unless it’s a double-digit lead with 50% in, I won’t get too excited.

Early exit poll says...

“Virginia exit poll (first wave) — Monuments to Confederate leaders on govt property should be...

Removed 36%
Left in place: 60%”

Be nice if everyone was a single-issue voter!

115% voter turnout Philly could report a week early if they wanted to.
