CNN: Fox cancels Trump impeachment ads

Fox News has canceled ads purchased by Democratic mega-donor Tom Steyer that call for President Trump’s impeachment, CNN’s Brian Stelter confirmed Monday.

“Due to the strong negative reaction to their ad by our viewers, we could not in good conscience take their money,” Fox News told Stelter.

Steyer said Friday in a statement that Fox News informed him on Oct. 31 that it was refusing to air the ad entitled “Join Us.” Steyer said the decision “shows no respect for democracy.”

Steyer launched his $10 million “Need to Impeach” ad campaign in late October, drawing the ire of Trump, who called Steyer “wacky & totally unhinged.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Sunday downplayed the idea that Democrats will seek to impeach Trump if they take back the House in next year's midterm elections.

I don't agree with this move.

1) Let him waste his money - this just frees up the money to be used somewhere else by cancelling the ads.

2) This airing on Fox News alerts their base viewers that this is an actual, real movement the Democrats and the Left are pursuing and it is important to continue to be involved and vote because the Left will never stop working and never stop plotting...being complacent simply because your guy is "in power" allows them to make comeback.

3) This invites other networks to start doing the same thing with conservative ads and they could use this as an excuse / precedent for doing so and alleging hypocrisy for anyone who would criticize it.

Fox is smart enough to stop their network from “taking a knee”.

Fox News should run the ads but also provide a banner to span the bottom of the page saying:

“While we do not endorse this idiot’s call for impeachment we do like spending the money he is paying us for this tripe.”

I would contend that the entire Democrat Party and a very large swath of the Republican Party shows no respect for Democracy either!

Hang 'em all, hang 'em high!! (See tagline before getting panties in a bunch, I've had that tagline dating back to Bush #43....)

I don’t watch Fox News anymore but hubby sneaks over there when I’m not around.

Caught a good part of one of Steyer’s comedy skits—hilarious and, as is always the case with Libs, fully fact-free.

‘A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER!’

Indeed.

I think FNC was afraid that running the ad would be seen as it endorsing the ad’s message.

I support Fox’ decision. I think I saw the first few seconds of that commercial and almost immediately changed the channel. I don’t know what channel I was watching at the time.

On the other hand, I’m just as likely to change the channel whenever I see a lying liberal. People like Shep Smith, Marie Harf, Juan Williams and elected politicians too numerous to list...

Accepting the money is a tacit admission of agreement.

Imagine the FR posts if Fox did run the ads: “omg now Fox supports impeachment, what morons!”

teyer said the decision “shows no respect for democracy.”

Like impeaching a duly elected president that is doing what the voters that put him office elected him to do?

Rich cry baby.

Steyer’s seditious and subversive actions make me believe that he is colluding with the Russkis to bring down American democracy and the American government. Mueller and his gang of Clintoonie shysters should be probing Tommy’s ass.

Wildcat:

1. This has nothing to do with reality. Until they take over the house majority and the senate with a 2/3 vote capacity to convict, they can’t do it. Even libereals aren’t that stupid that if they can’t even get a shoe-in, by their determination, elected, how are they going to get 2/3 voting majority elected?

2. This is an actual and real movement they are pursuing. But it not being pursued to finish, just to make the voters feel uncomfortable during the Trump administration. This is why they are not filing charges on Trump as they have nothing but whitewash. They did the same thing with Bush in the 2000’s. Didn’t work then either as he got elected a second time. But they continued to try to mess up the 2008 and make conservatives public enemy number 1, 2, 3, 4........etc.

3. How many positive conservative adds have you seen on liberal networks over the past 25 years? If you’ve seen more than 0, I would be shocked. Lib stations don’t tell the truth, and don’t advertise the enemy.
