It was déjà vu all over again as the Washington Post, who has endorsed his opponent in the Alabama Senate race, brought forth 40-year-old sexual molestation accusations against Judge Roy Moore. From Clarence Thomas, to the Duke lacrosse team, to the University of Virginia rape case, to Herman Cain, we have heard such charges before and the rush to judgment that follows.
Moore’s accusers issue the boilerplate caveat that if the charges are true, he should exit the public stage immediately in shame and certainly that is true. Then they quickly throw him under the guilty-as-charged bus that just ran over his presumption of innocence.
It matters not that Judge Roy Moore has been in Alabama politics for decades and his accusers were silent -- silent until he threatened the establishment by being a credible candidate for the U.S. Senate, having dispatched the establishment candidate, Luther Strange, in the Alabama primary. Had Moore lost the primary, it is doubtful these accusations would have surfaced. If he withdraws as his critics urge, his accusers will likely vanish into the woodwork as quickly as the accusers of Herman Cain did, their mission accomplished, after he abandoned his presidential run that was clearly gaining momentum.
In Moore’s case, as with others like his, it's sentence first, trial later. Sen. John McCain, who opposes all things Trump, leading the charge of those grabbing some rope and heading to the nearest tree:

Right now I am more upset with the weak kneed R senators than I am about the allegations vs. Judge Moore... including every FReeper’s hero, Sen. Lee. What a sad bunch we have ... better start serious primary challengers NOW.
Weak kneed? Naw, their attacks are not about being scared or weak.
I am still steamed at what they did to Herman Cain.
Judge Moore needs to keep fighting for his good name.
Eternal shame on those who have slandered him.

These allegations are so low, BUT Moore should continue his fight against the liberal fascists.

Anyone taken a serious look at the ONE accusation against Moore, and the real background of the one making the accusation?
No corroberating evidence. No other victims (so far) - and nearly 40 years ago... yet never to see the light of day until this particular campaign so very urgently desired by the Democrats...
I’m all about rooting out bad behavior - especially REAL harassment (and worse) - yet for decades, harassment (specifically sexual in nature) has become a tool to destroy people, and it all happens without a shred of evidence necessary - just make a bold accusation the the one being accused suddenly is considered guilty - and even remains partially “guilty” even if he (or she) is able to show very strong evidence they are innocent. The damage is done.
If Roy Moore did what he is being accused of doing - shame on him. For waiting nearly 40 years to let loose with this (yet totally unsubstantiated) bombshell... when there is a HUGE political office at stake -
Character assassination is not always bad - sometimes people REALLY ARE horrible monsters - and those need to be hunted down and dealt with, in a timely manner as to minimize the victimization. But lets at least set a threshold of evidence and presume the one being accused is innocent until PROVEN guilty by a preponderance of the evidence. He said/She said should not be enough to destroy a person’s reputation.
Even if true, where were Mom and Dad? Did the girl lie? She look way old for 14 year old.
A vote for Moore could easily morph into a vote against LMSM fake news and establishment politics-as-usual.

Never Trumpers and drive by media radio talk hosts are having a field day ignoring the fact that all of the accusers were of the age of legal consent. Including the one claiming when 14 years old. For her accusations are the juiciest. Which they gleefully relate and dwell on in a touchy feel-ly manner as if it came off of a police report yesterday. Not as a unsubstantiated recollection from 40 years ago. Because they know these are damaging accusations which will be almost impossible to disprove.
Despite that fact that it has been uncovered that two of his accusers are working for the Pervertion Party and that their accusations are false and politically motivated the drivebys and the nevers media are not reporting this but are mentioning one accuser is a “Republican”.

From what I am gathering about Moore, it’s not sticking and the people that matter (voters in his state) are not buying it.
