This kind of garbage is why I stopped getting their once fine magazine after almost 40 years subscription.

Way back in the early 80's they put out an issue about how great things were in the Soviet Union - consumer goods, clothing, entertainment, etc. It was obviously leftist bullcrap lies and that did it for me.

Yes, many of the older Nat Geos had some great articles and photos. But of course there was the Tasaday hoax and nowadays they’ve devoted an entire issue to Global Warming.

If man caused global warming is the great threat we face then if one carefully examines their solutions one will see that their policies will only make matters worse. Their inefficient energy programs will drive more people to burn wood.

I’ve had 1957 to 1996 professionally bound copies of Nat Geo with an index for sale for $12 for the entire set. Of course it weighs a ton and is many feet of shelf space. Nobody wants it.

Myself also. This once great magazine has become nothing but a political rag. I grew up with National Geographic and looked forward to each magazine and their most wonderful maps. Back then there was no politics in the magazine. The things I learned from the Geographic inspired me to work all over the world and see for myself what they brought to me in my youth. It was superb.

National Geographic has committed sucidide.

I totally hear you. I have 38 years of it in pristine condition (I take care of my stuff) in the leather slipcovers. After the last two years, it looks like kindling to me now. Ugh.
