What I find "interesting" is that leftists can make this claim ("subordinate art to morality") on an occasion such as condemning child abuse (or for various means of "political correctness"), but of course they will condemn and ridicule any "conservative" beliefs as unworthy of being upheld or even honestly explored in art. This is NOT to say Dylan Farrow should not be taking the position she is advocating; rather, that many people in our culture can't allow any similar "moralising" on any topic that they do not already approve of.

Pervert Woody Allen has a new film. Shame on Hollywood, on producers, on sponsors, on everyone involved. He’s a pervert and should be in jail or long ago executed.

Hollywood needs to understand that the worshipping of pedophiles and rapists is as bad as the rape. Racing for the privilege of being in a Woody Allen film is like helping him hold down the girl. Morality before art.
