Couldn’t he drive to a small airport, take off the “bracelet” and leave the country? I’m sure whomever he was spying for would facilitate it.
If he was released to house arrest he has already given up the goods.
I think this legal decision was designed in a way for him to just disappear. Like you suggest...he’ll cut the GPS unit, and have someone drive him south...probably to Florida, and take some vessel or fishing boat out to some island. Fake passport, and a flight into Lebanon.
Theres literally dozens of federal and state charges that should be filed against the guy. Some relate to tax fraud. Some to stolen property. There’s virtually no effort to build the case....people just want him to disappear and have the episode dissolve.
The pilot, the owner of the plane, and a few others would have to be participants in this escape.
These days going to Canada might be an option. /s
