White is a color, but it's also a bit of a misnomer for people of European descent. Pink-to-Olive skinned would be more accurate. So, technically, a "person of color" would be the lead no matter who was selected for the role.
That being said, this whole victim group nonsense is absurd. People just need to grow up!

we are "white" while others are Filipino, Vietnames, Chinese, pacific islander, etc etc...
