You are absolutely correct FRiend. Almost all of the world and indeed, most of Christianity seems blind to what is coming.

While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.
"Peace and Security" in regards to dividing Israel and creating a Palestinian state. I don't know that the 60th-year anniversary of the U.N. means anything specific but if you haven't seen the video before, you might find it interesting in light of the ESV verse above.
