President Trump boasted Thursday night that he secured the freedom of three American captives from North Korea for no money, while claiming that former President Barack Obama paid $1.8 billion to Iran to release U.S. hostages two years ago.
Speaking in Indiana, Trump exulted in the return of the three Americans whom he greeted earlier in the day.
“We didn’t pay for them,” Trump said. “They came out for nothing. Those hostages came out with respect.”
Referring to Obama’s negotiations with Iran, Trump said, “Obama paid $1.8 billion for hostages. Can you believe that? ”
He was talking about what critics said at the time amounted to more than a billion dollar ransom payment to Iran, freeing five Americans from Iranian jails. The Treasury Department wired the money to Iran around the same time that Tehran let three American prisoners fly out of the country. In a prisoner swap, two other Americans held in Iran were released and seven Iranians charged or convicted by the U.S. returned to Iran.
“We’re going to make a great deal for the world,” Trump said. “Kim Jong-un did a great service to himself, to his country. What he did was the right thing.”
Mocking critics who said he was risking nuclear war with North Korea, Trump said, “You know what gets you into nuclear wars? You know what gets you into other wars? Weakness.”

After successfully getting these hostages out, we just knew Trump would find some way to kick Obama in the ass.

The left thinks Trump is not too smart... they are the arbitrator of what smart is and who is smart... smart like obama who paid billions to get iran to an agreement and sending cash by air to them... and what he paid to get the traitor released and all the rest... that is sure smart!!!!!
They come on tv and spout things like ole Will did, desecrating a man’s relationship with his God and his President... ole Will will decide who is good and who is bad... who is smart and who is too dumb to serve.
I want to smack them...across the face and tell them they are the dumb ones and to watch in the next election.. just keep up with their stupidity and inslts and hate... and they won’t win the house.. nor the senate. People are tired and angry at what they are doing to a successful President and anyone else who knows him... it’s something I have never seen in my life and never dreamed they’d do this to our American President. The muslim one, they loved.. and that worries me a lot..for some day they will have gained the power back via college professors and the media!
They do not have the sense to look at the countries that let illegals flood in.... and see where their country is now in what shape.
I just voted absentee and I looked up each one on the ballot to see who they are and what they stand for... and I did not vote for a single incumbant.

Liberals are too ignorant of history and too attached to emotive, rather than logical, thinking to understand this very basic truism of geopolitics.
Iran would have done it for free but Soetoro wanted to give comfort and aid to our enemies with $1.8 Billion.
obama did not care one wit about the Iranian hostages. He was financing terrorism. That is why the Iranians got $1.8 billion and that was just a down payment!
