Here is the likely scenario that I wish would not play out- BUT IT COULD.

The NPRK agrees to denuclearize the peninsula but is return for that and for China's backing and support the USA gives into China's one side trade, not normalize trade and address tariffs (which on their side averages 8%) and is responsible for the $400 annual trade deficit the USA has with them.
