BA HQ is in Chi not Seattle. MS is in Redmond not Seattle
(although there is a presence there). AMZN and SBUX are affected but the employees are for the most part tech staff for whom $275 per head per year is a rounding error compared to their 6 figure salaries and benefits. I really don’t see the established mega corps relocating because of this. The techies that live in Seattle are going to continue be a sought after resource.
The tax is not on Seattle based companies, but on any employees in Seattle of a company making $20 million or more per year. That means McDonald’s employees will be taxed.
