ABC, in a stunning move, has decided to cancel its Roseanne revival following star Roseanne Barr's (racist tweet) Tuesday. "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday.
Early Tuesday, star, head writer and exec producer Barr attacked former President Obama White House adviser Valerie Jarrett in a since-deleted tweet in which she said "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." Barr subsequently apologized: "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me — my joke was in bad taste."
I've never been a fan of Roseanne Barr however, the jobs cut here were not warranted for someone's right to free speech. ABC is still in the tank for the Obamas.
There are a lot of thin skins out there, unless the barbs are leveled at people on the right.
And boy do they level them against the right.

I LMAO, but the racism was the planet of the apes bit. It is in poor taste, even if funny and true.
The hypocrisy is blatant as usual. If she’d said that about Condi, of Melania or any Republican, it would be perfectly OK.
Tweet was not racist. That is their inference - because THEY are racist. The first one to mention race is the racist.
How was it racist? A) There is no such thing as race. B) And in any case, Persian is an ethnicity and Islam is a religion.
If Roseanne Barr had said the exact same thing about Ben Carson that she said about Valerie Jarrett, not only would her show still be on the air, it would have been renewed for another two seasons already — and every “woke” “progressive” would be fervently defending her. No question about it.
She should immediately start peddling the show to other networks.
ABC could not wait for that one, could they?

ABC is all in with the Demorats so I'm not surprised they're first in and jumped to play the self righteous lead in this hoping others will follow suite.
It's political and that's all there is to it! Dems are going to jump every time......it's a form of intimidation hoping everyone who supports Trump will walk on eggs.

Something bad needs to happen in this country, really bad. Civil war, a disease epidemic, something horrible, to wake people up to how good we have it today. Getting offended by every little thing someone says and putting their livelihood at risk is indicative of a society gone soft. Really, really soft. Women living on the frontier in the 1800’s and as late as the early 1900’s were tougher than most men alive today.
We actually watched that show the other night. It was funny. I’ll bet some other network picks it up. There is a big following.
Roseanne should have said “I would like to apologize to apes everywhere for comparing you to valerie”
