Reagan wanted to abolish the Dept of Education but he couldn’t get it done because he never had a GOP Congress.

Yes, it's a natural fit as the purpose of education is to prepare Americans for the workplace.

The purpose of the Department of Labor is to foster, promote, and develop the wellbeing of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States; improve working conditions; advance opportunities for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights.

Why not blow up both of them? These are things the states should handle.

since McShame and Flake and Collins and couple more Ahoels in the Senate won’t support getting rid of the ridiculous federal EducDept, this may be as close as we can get right now to MAGA on this subject

then the dept can start cutting expenses since it can be more efficient “handling” these two related topics

cut cut cut

I like it!

Avoids “doing away” while still being able to do away with it.

Once merged, they can eliminate half the government workers as duplicates.

A fine start.

Great start at reducing the size of Leviathan. Could also save about 80 billion a year.

Personally I’d say merge them with a bunch of other depts and then you’ll only need to abolish one. O

How about ELIMINATING a few? Or is this a sneaky way to that end?

Organized labor has taken over education anyway.

I agree with what I think your motivation was there though.

We need to do away with the DoE.

Merge them, then defund the one by basing their budget on efficiency.
