They want everyone disarmed so they can try to intimidate the population at large the way they do the GOP - in the latter they want people to be afraid to run as conservatives because of the smears and the vandalism and now litigation. In the former, they want every individual to think, “What’s the use of the 2nd amendment? What’s the use of a handgun against an army or even the cops?” They don’t want the foremost thought in our heads to be “there are 600,000 deer hunters in one state alone... and we can reach out to most of them through the NRA, gun clubs and the local bar and grill like old friends...”
Or that in one day in a suburb of St Louis successful hunters brought in 495 deer to be processed at just one small processor.... 495 of some of the best-camouflaged, most alert and elusive critters in the local woods picked off in one day, most in just a few hours from opening day.
They really should be careful what they wish for.
For many years I have wondered why good conservatives spend so much angst against politicians and neglect holding the media to honest reporting. Why not protesting the media in their lair? Why not occupying the front and back doors of their buildings? Give them something to fear (even if it’s in their imagination).
