Here’s what you get when you hold primary elections in June: A tiny percentage of party voters determine the congressional candidates.
Even in the most competitive races Tuesday, more than 80 percent of eligible voters stayed home.
In the race that caused an earthquake in the Democratic Party, 28-year-old newcomer Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upset longtime Rep. Joe Crowley, 57 percent to 42 percent.
But only about 13 percent of registered Democrats turned out to vote in the 14th Congressional District that takes in parts of Queens and the Bronx, according to a preliminary city Board of Elections tally.

In my district I checked the next day after a primary. 30 people voted. Not 30%, 30 PEOPLE. ALL DAY
10 Freepers would have swing every single race.
Somebody here posted that Cowley needs to run as an “independent”. I think that’s a good idea. Like the TV bobbleheads always say, “This is going to be fun to watch”.
So the far Left is exstatic about their “victory” that was handed to them by the majority of the Democratic Party staying home; likely because they didn’t like her anymore than they did the guy that lost.

This open borders globalist socialist who wishes to destroy American sovereignty and its culture must become the poster child of the Democratic Party. Voters in swing districts and competitive Senate races must know who they are empowering if they vote Democrat.

Just Wait to 2020. The Hispanics were previously waiting for the old baby boomer White Liberal to die before they ran, but now they are getting quite uppity and with her victory there’s going to be a lot more of her types running and winning the primaries in 2020 and beyond.
Make no mistake about it... Cortez winning was a victory for US. The Left is starting to get on board with ousting the Establishment. The Left is finally deciding to shed all pretense. They are being open and honest about their Socialism, and giving us the opportunity to win on the merits of the debate. We could not ask for more. Celebrate and encourage this.
35% will vote for a toaster, if it has a D next to its name. 35% will vote for the toaster is if has an R by its name. It is the remaining 30% who decide our future, as well as any of those dozens of millions of eligible citizens who aren't active voters. I cannot imagine anything more likely to motivate them to vote for Limited Government candidates than for the Communist candidates to finally be open and honest about their goals. Then we are just a few short history lessons away from clearly showing the importance of our cause for the future of our nation, and the free world.
I applaud Ms Cortez, and thank her for pushing the Left into revealing their true nature.
You always have those folks who wake up in the morning wondering what happened. “Was I supposed to vote yesterday?”
There are a couple of areas where they might prevail, Throgs Neck, parts of Astoria but that’s about 20% of the district.The district was redone after the census and Crowley barely lived within the ne lines.
He spent $3,000,000 for 10,000 votes?
The voters would have appreciated his buying the votes too.
That district has no Republicans. Conservative or RINO.
Ocasio-Cortez won because she’s the only one that showed up ,yep she should run for President ,LOL
