Anti-establishment fervor grips Dems
The Hill ^ | 06/29/18 | Amie Parnes

The public debate for Democrats has centered around whether the party is drifting to the left.

But on the heels of Rep. Joseph Crowley’s (D-N.Y.) upset primary loss to 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the real battle is looking more like a fight between establishment and anti-establishment forces.

“I think it’s less about left-right and more about new-old,” said Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), who defeated a Democratic incumbent to win his seat in Congress in 2016.

Khanna was a player in the Crowley battle with Ocasio-Cortez. He backed Ocasio-Cortez, though in a move that’s won him some criticism, he also endorsed Crowley.

“To me, it's about anti-establishment, it’s about let’s have new voices in there, it’s about a sense of a failed generation of congressional leadership. I think that’s really the sentiment,” he said.

Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t the only anti-establishment winner on Tuesday night.

In Maryland, former NAACP President Ben Jealous defeated Prince George County Executive Rushern Baker, who was backed by the state’s political establishment.

Both Jealous and Ocasio-Cortez were supported by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who ran his own anti-establishment race in 2016 Democratic presidential primary against Hillary Clinton. While Sanders and his allies have suffered some losses in primaries this year, the victories on Tuesday night were huge for his movement.

They might also give some signals about how the 2020 race for the Democratic nomination will proceed.

Democrats want to out 'anti-establishment' Trump but with radical far-left extremism.

Get ready to fight them with facts, figures, and real-world historical examples of what radical far-right extremism leads to.

Stalin, Mao, Khmer Rogue, Venezuela, etc...

With the GOP its an attempt at a return to sanity. With the Democrats its to become further insane.

The Democrats have gone full-on Venezuela.

The GOP are the only adults left in the room and they will have to hash things out themselves in a way that brings them needed votes from independents. Neither party has more people registered than the unaffiliated voters. The Democrats seem to have forgotten that these voters exist which has set up a once in a generation opportunity for Republicans. Let’s hope they can see far enough beyond DC to make the most of it.

This has to be worrying to the uniparty, both (R) and (D). They are elitists who love luxury. Sure they want to enslave mankind under a global government, but that government was supposed to be ruled by a wealthy cabal bankers and plutocrats. They envisioned, and have planned for, net-feudalism/neo-fascism.

The monster they have unleashed with all their anti-Trump, anti-Americanism, is not net-feudal. It is unbridled mao tse tung style communism. And plutocrats don't fare very well once the re-education and genocide begins.

At least Conservatives still live by the 2nd Amendment and we'll either live on our feet or go down fighting.

Drifting? Like in the wind? Let's try a more appropriate descriptive verb, like say, "in a scorched earth charge".

Forget the perfectly plausible notion that Left vs. Ultra Left and Old vs. Young isn't mutually exclusive. These "younger, fresher" voices aren't coming from the right side of the linear political spectrum.

This is a camouflage article.

"Hey guys, we're not becoming more and more commie, we're just becoming younger and fresher."

Between their new PR Dep’t (Nutty Nancy and Mad Maxine) and their new Policy Director (Ocasio-Cortez) more and more mainstream moderate Dems are going to bolt, and the DNC won’t be able to stay ahead of Trump’s branding and ridicule. They’ll be busy trying to keep all the above away from the microphones and cameras at exactly the time when their media pals want nothing more!

I think you are right, it is the revenge of the Bernie bots. They will cease control of the democratic party and do what Mondale set out to do 40 years ago, turn it full communist. Plug in the popcorn machine, extra butter, and watch the fun.

LMAO @ anti establishment. these leftist totalitarians think their shit don’t stink. They call themselves whatever they like, and label us whatever they want regardless of reality, and the media leads the charge like good soldiers.
The dems/left and all of the media and Hollywood are the biggest establishment whores around, and Republicans aren’t far behind. Globalist, centralized power control freaks.

This is more about the Spanish speaking people colonizing our country wanting their own as representatives.

Eventually the La Raza Party will supplant the Democrat party.

The Democrats who thought they would use them as a new permanent majority will be surprised when it happens.

The sinking liberal ship is being taken over by the Gestapo...SS...Stasi...

The new message of the party is going to be FRIGHTFULLY extreme.

Just the fear of them possibly winning is going to make the most nonchalant voter crawl through broken glass to defeat them at the ballot box.

The genius of the democrats, in the past, is that they were able to mask their true political philosophy (Maoism, Kleptocracy) with a perception that they were the voice of reason for the working class. With the election of Trump, they have now been forced to remove that mask and show their hand. If this had been Jeb! versus Hillary, it would’ve been business as usual.

That’s the thing about Marxist revolutions. The factions end up killing each other until only one Marxists faction emerges.

True.

This ties into a 'changing America' and Oprah waiting for old white folk to die off.

It also ties in to people like Bill Kristol and other neo-cons who believe we need new immigrants to revitalize a dying America.

'Younger and fresher' is a euphemism for population replacement.

IMO.

I think the Democrats have basically picked up their ball and gone home. They have withdrawn from any leadership role for the vast majority of voters and instead seem to have decided to lunge Left while trying to force the Republicans to lunge Right by attacking them on any attempt to govern in the moderate way preferred by most voters. The border is a perfect example.

This strategy contains a huge, one might say YUGE flaw, and that is that nobody can accuse Donald Trump of being a starry-eyed idealistic purist. This is no longer the party of George W. Bush that descended into litmus tests and demands that everyone bow down, right or wrong. This is the party of a pragmatic businessman and there is a big difference.

The Democratic party is trying to dictate the terms of the American people’s surrender without realizing that Trump is looking better by the day.

Note to failed medial and all other infantile hysteric hyperventilating Media clowns,

Electing a Latino with only 15,000 votes out of 710,000 registered voters in a dark dark dark blue Congressional District, primarily Latino in ethnicity, is not a revolution in the making.
