That’s been the plan now that their scheme to remove Bennett from the ballot failed.
But a Supreme Court vacancy adds another wrinkle. Ducey may be pressured to pledge to appoint somebody OTHER than a McCain.
Or, which is their fear, McCain may drop dead in the mean time (another reason they wanted Bennett off the ballot), and then, once again, if Ducey appoints another McCain, he’s toast in the primary.
They’re in quite a pickle just because McCain wanted his successor hand-picked, not elected by the people.
