Man arrested for threatening to murder FCC chair Ajit Pai's family

A California man was arrested Friday by FBI agents on charges of threatening to kill Federal Communications Commission chairmanr Ajit Pai over Pai's role in the Trump administration's repeal of net neutrality protections.

The Justice Department said in a press release that Markara Man, 33, of Norwalk, California made three threatening emails to accounts operated by Pai last December around the time the FCC voted to repeal net neutrality rules passed during the Obama administration.

The first email blamed Pai for the suicide of a child Man apparently linked to the repeal of net neutrality, while the subsequent emails contained threats against Pai's life and pictures of Pai's family.

"Man is charged with a threatening to murder a member of the immediate family of a U.S. official with the intent to intimidate or interfere with such official while engaged in the performance of official duties, or with the intent to retaliate against such official on account of the performance of official duties. If convicted, Man faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison," the press release states.

In the press release, the Justice Department notes that Man confessed to sending the email threats in a meeting with FBI agents last month, which he said were meant to "scare" the FCC chair but not reflect intended violence.

The Democrats are promoting political murder. Sooner rather than later someone will succeed.

It's not just lack of "civility", the Democratic Party is now a terrorist organization.

They got so worked up over repealing net neutrality yet not a single one of them could tell you what it was or the benefits of it. All they knew was that Obama’s FCC enacted it, therefore it was automatically good, and Trump’s FCC was going to repeal it which made it automatically bad.

The media’s been whipping up this violent hysteria for a while now - baseball field shootings, attacks while mowing the lawn and now this. Jim Acosta should also be arrested for collusion.

And exactly what, in the real world, changed from before the obola’s regulations, to when they existed, to now, when they don’t? I for one, haven’t seen any difference at all - in part because the regs didn’t have time to dig in and do their dirty work.

Obviously, net neutrality was something other than what the Left claimed it to be, otherwise we would not be seeing this type of nutty behavior on their part. It was probably their attempt to get full control of the internet.

From The Hill article: The man, according to a release from the Justice Department (DOJ), made the threats because of Pai's role in repealing net neutrality protections.

Protections? Sure.

Conservatives need to take the lesson of the attack on Rand Paul, the Scalise shooting, and targetted harassment in blue areas of Trump officials.... etc.

Just like it is smart to stay out of bad, high crime areas of town, it is smart to avoid radical blue areas.

That’s kind of tough in DC which is 95 percent demonrat.

Maybe Washington needs a Green Zone where Repubs will be safe.

The threats were made in December. He was arrested at the end of June, a good six months later...this after he had confessed to the FBI a month before his arrest. Way to be prompt and on the ball, Federal Bureau of Investigation. I’m a law and order supporter, but, truly, turtles amble faster than this reaction by the feds.
