The killing of five staffers at an Annapolis, Md., newspaper is an attack on all of us.

By us, we mean not just journalists — but all Americans. For the foundation of our country depends on a free press able to probe and report without fear of retribution.

I don’t recall this rag running an editorial about how the months long discussion about assassination, and the Shakespeare in the Park play where Trump was assassinated nightly might trigger some unstable person. Did they blame the hysterical reporting by CNN and others for the shooting of congressmen last year? My guess is that they have not, and may very well have engaged in the same sort of hysterical selective outrage themselves.

Ridiculous!! What happened at Annapolis had NOTHING to do with the American people. It was a vendetta against the paper for a personal matter. More FAKE NEWS!!!!!

I could care less about the MSM

Reading where one of those survivors in Annapolis said “F Trump and his thoughts and prayers...”

If the media does not dial back it’s hatred for America, I feel these types of incidents may only increase.

Is it not a moral story warning in miniature?

I wonder when was the last time that any of these “journalists” went after corruption at the really big criminal institutions? Big unions, government agencies, NGOs like Soros or Clinton?

So, the MD paper went after some small timer and he lost his mind. Is that the fault of conservatives?

I remember our local urno-lists went after some punk that was dumping some trash in the river and proceeded to get this guy in big trouble. Meanwhile, the city routinely dumps tons of overflow crap into the lake and no outrage or concern.

I think this is what conservatives, constitutionalists and libertarians resent the most about these journalists. They are always quick to pounce on the little punk, but when government agencies and officials engage in crime and corruption on a massive scale, it’s just fine.

You take the Lord’s name for your own vanity constantly on this site. It’s disgusting.

The only One who can really dial back hate is God — of course I’m going to get mocked on here by shallow souls for saying so.

Either there can be a repentance or an extinction. But only God can dial it back. Everyone else will find excuses to hang on to hate rather than cry out in anguish “God save us!”

Oh? Prove it’s my own vanity. It should be easy by finding scriptural contradiction.

Pretend you are a simple man and stop pretending you have some special knowledge and you will be far less revolting. You may actually encourage some one to see your perspective.

But the environment the president has created makes us targets.

Like the way people were sneaking up and killing cops after the Barack Obama rhetoric about the Trayvon Martin riots and the 'Gentle Giant' riots?

And how Black Lives Matter racists paraded around chanting how they wanted dead cops and just like that there were dead cops all over the country.

I agree. But engaging him in the least is the digital equivalent of stepping in dogshite, only less fragrant.

Uh no. It was just an attack on a newspaper’s employees by a crazy person. If you fear that the things you print will cause you harm, then carry a gun or hire security. Do they think patriotic journalists of old were in more or less danger than they are today?

I do not take your idea of revolting to be my measure. “To the pure all things are pure. To the impure nothing is pure.” You cavil because you refuse to seek to come up to the Christ I have embraced.
