Pull troops out of Europe...a good idea???
For hundreds of years European countries, up until the mid-1940’s have managed to find reasons aplenty to war against EACH OTHER.
Since April, 1945 and through the collapse of the Soviet Union, there have been no wars between European nations, disputes maybe but no wars. Also none of them have a military large enough, thanks to the U.S.A., to actually fight a true war.
A question...If forced to raise armies large enough to tryly defend themselves, could a long sad history repeat itself?
Unthinkable of course, but so were WWi and it’s BIG brother WWII.

“If Europe won’t take measures to provide for the preservation of its cultures and people, we don’t need to be there. All our presence serves to do is enable them to fund their ever expanding welfare states to our detriment.”

AMEN!!!

I agree. Pull the big one out of Germany and set it up...in the old east Prussian area.

That would make em chew.

“Let’s start with Germany. I’m beginning to really hate them. Switch our bases over to Poland.”

An outstanding idea! Poland is actually defending its land and Western culture and keeping muzzie invaders out. They deserve to be helped.

Our involvement in the first world war led to the allied victory that established the treaty of Versailles, which in turn created the conditions that allowed the second world war to happen. America has spent enough blood and treasure on European follies. We need not be a global policeman, nor get baited to intervene on behalf of those who won’t lift a finger to help themselves. American interests and American benefit are the only drivers for military, economic, and political action around the globe.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg enjoys ‘stroking’ Pres. Trump....even at the press conference a short while ago that was evident.

Trump wants Nato countries to increase their spending from 2% to 4% which only 8 countries currently reach even the 2%. An increase only of just 4 ocuntries reaching the 2% since Trumps first speech requiring they do their share in 2016.

Stoltenberg is happy nations have increased their contributions even though they’re not reaching the 2% marker.

Easier to list the nations who are meeting the 2%...there are just 8 out of soon to be 30 nations. All the rest fall short and then some.

Right. Talk is cheap.

Never believe what a European says. Always ask to see the money first.

Get us OUT of Nato and bring our troops home. No other result from this summit is acceptable.

The administration of NATO is billed to all members of NATO. Thats around 350 million dollars per year. Other than that no money changes hands. Each country funds it’s own military the way they choose to.

In 2015 the members of NATO agreed to raise military spending from 1% GDP to 2% GDP by 2024. It takes several years to build those planes and ships. Most of the wealthier countries will meet their commitments but it can’t be done overnight.
It’s too early to say who isn’t going to meet 2%.

US ALPHA Team arrives at Nato meeting....!!!

This morning in Europe!

As the NATO summit began in Brussels, President Trump delivered a clear message to America’s allies: The transatlantic Alliance is too important not to invest in. “The United States is paying far too much, and other countries are not paying enough,” the President said this morning.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg echoed that goal. “We will continue to focus on defense spending, because as the President just said, NATO Allies have to invest more in defense, and that’s not exactly what they’re doing,” he said. President Trump thanked the Secretary General for working hard to make progress. “He understands the problem.”

While former President Obama also urged our NATO allies to share the defense burden, President Trump is the one getting results. Since President Trump took office, each member state has increased its defense spending: In 2017 alone, we saw an increase of more than 4.8 percent in defense spending among our NATO Allies. “But that’s not nearly enough,” President Trump makes clear.

I read that Germany has No more working subs. Once Germany’s U-Boats caused the world to tremble. Twice they almost won two World Wars—Now they are rusting away—a historic footnote. Germany should pray that a major war will not happen. What are they doing with the money they are saving? Using it to feed and house Arab immigrants. Money ill spent.
