Kavanagh should "take the Sixth" and assert his Article Six protection against religious tests and decline to answer religious questions not directly related to previous case opinions.

For previous case opinions, he should stick to the facts of the particular case and limit answers to the laws in question.

I'm guessing that Kavanagh is Roman Catholic. Does anyone know for sure?

If so, then he needs to respond something like this: Why are practicing Roman Catholics subjected to a religious test but secular ones get a pass?

That line would work well for any other religion, but work especially well for Roman Catholics for two reasons: (a)there are so many of them and (b)they are the major swing voting constituency.
