WASHINGTON The email landed in John Podestas crowded inbox around March 19, 2016, during the height of the presidential primaries, and it appeared to be a standard security request from Google for Hillary Clintons campaign chairman to change his password.
Doing so ultimately led to a political firestorm that is still raging.
The email was actually from Aleksey Lukashev, a senior lieutenant in Russian military intelligence, using the account john356gh to mask his purpose, U.S. officials say. The email contained an embedded link that secretly opened Podestas account to a hacking team at 20 Komsomolskiy Prospekt, near Moscows Red Square.
Two days later, the Russian cyber thieves stole and later leaked more than 50,000 of Podestas private emails, incalculably undercutting Clintons bid for the White House.

let me save you some time: podesta fell for a phish. what a retard.
what they don’t tell you is that he reported it to his IT guy, who promptly forgot how to speak english, or use a telephone. that part is actually an interesting story.
I thought meta data showed that data was removed at a rate to exceeded network transmission speed.
Apparently there were hacking attempts and fishing at times on the Trump campaign as well. Mr. Rosenstein conveniently left that information out. This would indicate, that the indictments have a political motivation.
With Podesta’s password being “password,” a savvy 10 year old could have hacked his server. Democrats are stupid. They have to have all that media support covering up for them, or most of them would be in prison.
She denied she compromised security and denied ever even receiving any classified information.
Russian GRU agents? More likely some Indian-American 14 year old boys in Silicon Valley or Austin.
The Awan brothers walk, and Seth’s killers too. A very clean broom.
Awan left the back door open...
let me save you some time: podesta fell for a phish
Of course, the DNC refused to let the FBI look at their servers. So all of this is the world of the corrupt FBI, taking the word of an even more corrupt DNC, taking the word of their hack agency crowdstrike who analyzed it for them.
PT Barnum... a sucker born every minute folks.
If they had any proof of this the story would be far more hilarious.
And lukashev used his real name when he signed up for the gmail account? Are these ppl serious?
It was actually Seth Rich, angry about what Hillary did to Bernie, and they murdered him for doing it.
Sure, every hacker and everyone in IT Security read everything Snowden had to say and then didn't bother to hide the point of origin of their hack.
The CIA or NSA put that address into whatever it was that got into Podesta's stuff and just like they hacked into the servers in Congress to see what info they had on torture, the CIA was probably the one taking everything in his account, too.
Vault 7 Wikileaks exposed how the CIA/NSA have collected tools and techniques to be able to blame any cyber/hack on anyone they want. No thinking person should believe them.
Also, they collect information. They literally never -release- information unless it is propaganda designed to advance their cause.
They keep changing their story. That is almost always means they are lying.
You cant track Bitcoin. So the first part is complete nonsense. The day Bitcoin can be tracked will be the day Bitcoin dies.
I get though this is headline is the B.S. they think they can sell to the public. Its obvious the Deep State is looking for the funding of their fake news that cannot be proven. Although the sheep in the media will fall for
It hook, line and sinker.
Here is my question? Can the Deep State show actual evidence that these were Russian Ads on Social Media not opponents opposition that actually converted millions of votes?
Answer: No they are just making $hit up on the fly, and whatever crap they can sell to the public.
Figured it was some sort of millennial iPhag thing they do and forgot about it.
Excellent response. About the big email conspiracy
They didnt hack anything. Podesta fell for a phishing scam. He gave it all away
