Because it’s just not fair. And the left wing mantra is that everything must be fair.
The older I get and the more I learn, the less I know, and the greater the genius of my parents.
If I were just half the man my father was...
There is no such condition as income inequality.
There is human inequality that is recognized by lack of education, inability to gather the wherewithall to care for ones self, general unwillingness to work at a level producing higher income and plain laziness.
Because it has been drilled into them by the propagandists in education, especially at colleges, which have been indoctrination centers got left-wing ideologies.
This question would never have to be asked if parents did their job at home and also educated their children in environments that did not indoctrinate.
Those who can, do.
Those who can’t, teach.
Those who can’t teach, run for office......................
...because when you’re young and poor being told that the inequality isn’t fair resonates. Due to my own decisions I was a husband and father at 19, full time at school and working - I still had a couple of instances where I couldn’t put food on the table.
I admit that I thought things weren’t fair, I can’t say I wouldn’t have voted for “free stuff”. That said, I was not yet a citizen - so I couldn’t vote anyway :)
Looking back...it was part of what made me who I am today.
My take is that it is for two reasons:
1. They have not been prepared to actually work 40 hours a week to earn a living.
2. They believe the economy will be worse and it will be extremely difficult to succeed as their parents did, so they want income guaranteed regardless of their effort or ability.
a possible third one: Their needs are not all that great. As long as they have clothing on their back, a reliable bicycle, food on the table and a big screen in moms basement on which to play video games, they’re good. At least that is how they see it right now.
Because their teachers from preschool through university taught them that the reason they struggle to pay their rent and student loans with a Womyns Studies degree is that the EEEEEEEVIL 1% has stolen all the wealth.
Because they have been raised to be irresponsible children that someone else must take care of.
Those who can’t teach, teach gym class.
We had gym teachers that also taught history, math, etc.............or vice versa..........
This is a relatively new factor in my lifetime, the American Idol syndrome. As Mark Knopfler said "Money for nothing and your chicks for free". It's the flipside of the whining about the "one puhcentuhhhs" (/Bernie accent). Along with that lotteries everywhere (otherwise known as taxes on the poor--and I know, no one has a gun to someone's head and forces them to buy a lottery ticket, but it is a tax on the poor). Bottom line is, less emphasis on working to become the next Steve Jobs, more emphasis on Get Rich Quick and "luck". I sound like an old guy, which I am.
G B Shaw & Oscar Wilde are generally credited with
YOUTH IS WASTED ON THE YOUNG
When I was their age, I cared greatly about it, also. I cared so damned much that I worked my ass off for that next raise!
...”INDOCTRINATION INTO MARXIST THOUGHT PROCESSES IN HS AND COLLEGE......................”...
You get an A+ for exactly the right answer.
...”Because they have been raised to be irresponsible children that someone else must take care of.”...
I am beginning to think that the draft might have been a great idea. At least, it would have given snowflakes a real view of the world.
The lefts solution to “income inequality” is to make everyone equally poor (except, of course, the ruling elite).
Life is tough and painful, but without toughness and pain, there is NO meaning...there is no sense of accomplishment and self-respect.
Unfortunately, the kids have been brainwashed by the universities to believe that they can sell their souls (and their votes) for the freedom to smoke pot and drink Starbucks and spend their lives watching TV and gaming.
"Who wants self-respect," they ask, "and, for that matter, what the hell is it?"
I was sickened by a post yesterday about California proposing a tax on business to finance a universal pay for everyone.
My sarcastic response was something like "Why work for a company when your socialist government will rob them for you?".
