Shadowbanning: Twitter's Revenge on Trump
American Thinker ^ | July 28, 2018 | Daniel John Sobieski

Twitter, like its Facebook cousin, now claims to have “fixed” the “error” involving the failure of prominent conservatives such as Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., to not appear in Twitter’s search box and denies it engages in the practice known as “shadow banning”:

Twitter has denied shadowbanning, saying that the apparent suppression of autocomplete search suggestions for Republican congressman Matt Gaetz is an “error.” A Twitter spokeswoman denied shadowbanning exists, and told Breitbart News that the issue with Matt Gaetz’s search results is being fixed:

As we have said before, we do not shadowban. We are aware that some accounts are not automatically populating in our search box, and [are] shipping a change to address this. The profiles, Tweets and discussions about these accounts do appear when you search for them.

Yes, Virginia, shadowbanning exists as Twitter plays “trick or tweet” with conservatives. As a shadowbanned Twitter user, I have seen my tweets suddenly become “unavailable,” followers suddenly “unfollow” en masse, Twitter analytics stats suddenly flatline and set to zero, and attached photos or explanatory graphics suddenly become “unavailable”. If you are a prolific Twitter conservative, you will be accused of “automated” behavior and have your account locked or even suspended. Once I was suspended for “aggressive following behavior” just for following all conservative accounts Twitter suggested I should follow.

... apparent suppression of autocomplete search suggestions for Republican congressman Matt Gaetz is an “error...

That’s one liberal description of maliciousness.

So what are conservatives going to do? Are they going to continue to female dog on the sidelines, or compete in the market?

You're telling me that the same people that built wonderful alternative conservative news sites and dominate talk radio can't promote alternatives to Facebook or Twitter?

What is stopping conservatives from creating say, Declaration.com, an alternative to Twitter? EagleEye.com, a video alternative to YouTube? Free Republic becoming what Facebook is now?

I myself have been brainstorming some cool domain names and networking with Stanford types on creating these very alternatives.

Like one of my favorite groups OutKast always said: "You Gotta Get Up and Get Out and Get Something!"

I wonder how this is working out for the Twitter stockholders?

Poor saps. He’s winning, and they’re losing. Marco, Jeb and Hillary could have told them how this would end.

Part of the problem might actually be supernatural. We are in an age where God and the devil are duking it out like never before.

What should be done is to keep on patiently pointing out problems to Twitter without getting all vitriolic about it. Vitriol makes the devil happy and he does not care whether it is coming from left or right, he likes it equally well.

Why should we allow ourselves to be banished to these lonely internet outposts where all we do is preach to the choir?

We need to be heard on the websites that people actually visit. There's a reason President Trump posts on Twitter and not Free Republic.

Twitter does not engage in shadowbanning. Political Correctness does not exist either. It’s true; Elvis’ clone told me just before he got on the UFO with Bigfoot.

Who says these proposed sites have to be conservative-only?

Just create an alternative to Twitter and allow all opinions to post, no censorship. In the end, the conservative POV will win out.

Sirius XM is posting record profits and have the highest listeners they've ever had because they are pro-free speech. There is no censorship at Sirius XM. They have channels for progressives, and they have the Patriot Channel and Breitbart News for conservatives. If Twitter and Facebook were smart, they would get more revenue by being neutral.

To unravel this bit of pure BS, ask them to explain exactly the details of the “error” that was fixed.

It is a frauud on the stockholders. I am sure the offering did not mention twitter was anti-conservative.

A class action is in order.

I predict that a wealthy REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE will start up a company that challenges Twitter.

Their monopoly will be gone overnight.

Wikipedia is pretty useful so long as the content does not have political implications. This is the exact characteristic of “the MSM.”

Twitter and Facebook and YouTube, ditto. They are run by “liberals,” and political implications alway get twisted to the left.

IMHO the immediate action to be taken against “the MSM” is to sue the Associated Press into oblivion on antiTrust grounds.

The “No Labels” movement, like the MSM, is all about pseudo-objectivity. And of course you aren’t supposed to label Facebook et. al. “liberal,” no - “No Labels.” But the con becomes clear when “Right Wing Extremist” is a legit label, and “liberal” - say nothing of “Socialist” or “Communist” is not.

Gab already exists. Conservatives can migrate there.

And compete with the open racism and highly provactive posts already there? Gab.ai doesn't censor anything over there. Free speech is great, IMO. Having Conservative viewpoint on the same site as some of the most bigoted, racist comments I've ever seen would simply give the libtards an excuse to link Conservatives and racists/bigots toghether (which they already do, this would just make it worse.)

I'd prefer to see an alternative to Twitter and Fascistbook that supports Conservative values and principles while at the same time treats libtards the way we're treated on "their platforms."

I know, that's not a fully Conservative position, it is however where I am after being treated like a second-class citizen pretty much everywhere I go because I support our President (and proudly do so!)

Zappl might have promise. Based off of Steemit.

I believe Gab was suggesting a separate group for those who didn’t want the open gladiator warfare on the main feed.

App.net had promise, but nobody wanted to pay the yearly fee, so they’ve disappeared.
