Pastor Van Moody: Don't attack me and other black faith leaders for working with Trump
Fox news Opinion ^ | August 3,2018 | Van Moody

Posted on 08/04/2018 7:00:48 AM PDT by Hojczyk

The president expressed to us that he is concerned about the incredible challenges our prisoners and former prisoners face under the current system. He said his administration is currently working on prison reform legislation to help.

I thanked President Trump for this and for “caring for all people,” meaning I am encouraged and hopeful about his desire for prison reform, his wish to help the formerly incarcerated, and his determination to partner with the faith-based community on important issues affecting the community.

On other issues, I am on record as disagreeing with President Trump, including on aspects of his immigration policy. However, I would happily hop on a plane to Washington again if I were invited to sit down and talk through other issues that will help the disenfranchised, marginalized and voiceless, like I did on at our meeting this week.

But what is most disturbing about the reaction to Wednesday’s meeting is that it shows the vitriol and contempt that is present even when President Trump’s efforts are positive and will clearly help those who need it most (his First Step Act prison reform legislation has strong bipartisan support).

My prayer is that we no longer sacrifice the people who need help the most on the altar of our egos and political ideology. We don’t have to agree on all things – in fact we might only agree on a few things – but I still believe we can work together for the betterment of this country, its citizens and our communities.

As a Christian, my ultimate example is Jesus, and in the spirit of the popular bracelets from years ago I think we have to ask the question: “What would Jesus do?” This answer is simple.

Isn’t it amazing racist President Trump working with black leaders. A racist wouldn’t care about them or their opinions.

Trump is a New York “street kid” that was raised in the melting pot city in the world. He loves all Americans because he got to mingle with so many different kinds of Americans Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, etc. while growing up & working on his father’s construction sites in NYC. There he learned the culture, there he learned to curse like a New Yorker, there he learned about Greeks, Italians, Irish, Cops, Firemen, Blacks, Hispanics, Chinese, Polish, Germans, etc. He speaks the lingo of the streets of New York City.

Barack Hussein was POTUS for eight years, did absolutely nothing for American Blacks folks, except keep them tied down on the “Obama” economic slave plantation, throwing them crumbs to keep them in line while they aborted their children, killed and wounded each other, and lived in despair, with little hope for real freedom and better futures.

How any African-American can ever support this farce of a human being is far beyond my understanding. Obama’s legacy to his Black Brothers & Sisters is “Bloody Chicago” where Blacks slaughter Blacks every day, every hour, every minute. Obama, he did nothing, and, willingly let the carnage of murder go on, unabated.

Trump, meant what his said to his Black Brothers & Sisters” You have nothing to lose by voting for me!!! And..he has delivered. And, he will deliver much more for all Americans. Go, Trump, Make America Great Again (MAGA)!!!

Come on ‘liberals’. Don’t let up on this guy. Push him hard enough, and he may become a conservative.

The scales are falling from blacks’ eyes; they know a guy who has been in the spotlight for decades isn’t suddenly “racist” for running against a wealthy white woman.

Watched the whole meeting. It was just awesome. I don’t understand how anyone could watch that and not see how *real* our President is and the great things he is doing and trying to do for all Americans.
Loved it when he mentioned that our current President is doing more for black Americans than the last president.

Loved it when Pastor Darrell Scott said DJT was “the most pro-black President we’ve had in our lifetimes” and that “the last president didn’t feel like he had to prove anything to us” (to paraphrase)
Beautiful!
