President Trump’s decision to pull the US out of the 2015 nuclear accord with Iran and reimpose a raft of sanctions will hit a number of German and European businesses working in Iran. […]

Germany’s Daimler was teaming up with two Iranian firms to assemble Mercedes-Benz trucks. Volkswagen also said last year it would seek to resume sales in Iran for the first time in 17 years, yet the scale of its US activities could force the jettisoning of those plans.

German firms’ business with Iran amounted to $2.6 billion in exports 2016, to $3 billion last year. […]

British Airways and German carrier Lufthansa face having to stop only recently resumed direct flights to Tehran or face losing Transatlantic business. […]

Germany’s big banks, Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank, stayed clear of Iran after the US fined them hugely in 2015 for violating previous sanctions. Regional banks Helaba and DZ Bank pulled out of Iran after the US announced it was reimposing sanctions. […]

Siemens returned to Iran in 2016 seeking to sell gas turbines and generators for electricity stations and has won a contract to sell compressors for a natural gas processor. “The mega contracts hoped for when sanctions were lifted were never realized,” KPMG adviser Kaveh Taghizadeh was recently quoted as saying in Stern magazine. …

Some Germans are still trying to kill all the Jews.
Using Iran as a proxy.
Israel does business with the Germans as they make their subs. Conflicting.

Behind it all, they are capitalists...seeking a customer that was previously ‘forbidden’. I would have done the same thing. But on the positive side...this Ayatollah-driven economic spiral can only result in some coup action (probably the Revolutionary Guards), and the Mullahs led to some side door where they have zero influence on anything but religion. The business deals will all come back to exist shortly after the coup occurs.

The Hezbos will have to use Toyota pickups instead of Benz trucks for their homicide bombings...

I haven’t been a real big fan of Germany, since I was stationed there, from 1980 to 1984.

With Iran having those pallet loads of taxpayers money that Obummer gave to them as a love gift, they are just itching to blow it on lots of new toys and fund hundreds of terror cells worldwide.

From the moment that Iran took possession of that money, Obama officially become a worldwide financier of jihad terrorism. Every person who dies or is injured by Iran and their proxies, it's blood on Obama hands. Congress is not guilt free either as nobody even raised an eyebrow over it.

I hate Krauts. But I do love kraut dogs with grilled onions and sweet mustard.

Snort. The Germans have been sanctions busting for years. They’ll just continue doing it.

“The Germans have been sanctions busting for years. They’ll just continue doing it.”

I have a suspicion that this administration has much sharper eyesight than previous ones. I doubt President Trump will hesitate to drop a very big hammer on a few German companies if they try that.

I agree. But my bet is the Germans are still gonna do it. They need the money.

The Germans AND Chinese were doing trade with Iran even before the previous sanctions were lifted.

The Germans are having trouble now though... they can’t find a bank that will finance business transactions. There was ONE, in Finland, that was helping... until a few months ago.

Now, it’s pretty much just China and Russia that do business there.
