Why would anyone with half a brain voluntarily hire this person. You could see the “train wreck “ coming from any distance, particularly if you had the knowledge of her which Trump has.
Maybe because the former host of a reality show knows that such soap opera histrionics and gossip are the kind of thing that the media can’t resist and it serves as a lightening rod for their venom.
Give the nattering nabobs of negativity a chew toy to play with for awhile, she’s easily disputed and exposed.
But it is hardly an “exclusive” bad decision for Trump’s team to have her in the White House. Clinton-Gore gave her 4 different jobs possibly 5 if she worked on the road on Gore’s 2000 election team.

I’d heard an off the cuff remark that she’d worked at the White House before Trump was elected and this was what I found rather quickly.
She begged President Trump - in tears - for a job in his administration. He has a soft heart....a mistake I hope he knows he will never make again.
That was my initial thought, too. Now I’m wondering if Trump hired her knowing full well that she’s eventually be fired in spectacular fashion and would serve as a great distraction in the process.
That is what puzzles me. Her resumé is one of total failure.
