This is the standard view.

I don’t think so. I think the key to Flynn’s entire guilty plea is in the last charge, related to Turkey. I’m guessing Mulehead had a LOT more tying Flynn to Turkey, that some of it was not above board, and that while only one charge related to Turkey was included (for political reasons-—”muh Russia”), I think that is really what Mulehead has on Flynn and said, “Plead to these four and we’ll forget the other 10 charges related to Turkey.”

But, smarter people than me keep saying, “No, not a chance.” We’ll see.

This is not justice. It is abuse of power.

...but maybe the DOJ wants to go back and revisit that issue.

DOJ included the two campaign finance charges to link Trump to Cohen and a crime knowing full well that these charges will not be tested in court. Cohen has copped a plea bargain deal ensuring that there will be no trial. If Trump needed any more convincing that he should not sit down with the Mueller team, this Cohen deal should put that to rest.

What I don’t understand is why FLYNN is waiting. His team has this.

Turning it around, what is the downside to waiting?

One thing about Flynn. He is acting only for himself , his son and family, and he needs money. So holding out until needed is fine in his case. He is a financially ruined man.So is his son. Mueller did an awful number on Flynn.

Why does he have to twist in the wind for years? What kind of “judge” allows for this nonsense?

“Am I correct that Flynn was perjury trapped over statements about something that was not even a crime?”

Yes you are, and more. He was asked, “did you discuss removing sanctions with the Russian ambassador?”.

He replied that he had not. (even though it would have been completely legal if he had)

The FBI through their illegal wiretaps had a tape where Russian Ambassador asked Flynn about sanctions. Flynn replied that he could not discuss that and that would have to be a topic for the future.

Any sane person would say he didn’t discuss that topic. But the FBI says telling the ambassador you cannot discuss it, is actually “discussing” it!

Add in moron Pence running to a TV camera and claiming Flynn had lied to him. This gave the FBI ammo and helped the swamp get rid of Flynn and bring in McMaster, changing the entire direction of Trump’s foreign policy. The war in Syria switched back to it’s goal of supporting the jihadi rebels and removing Assad. Hillary’s Russian interference cover story was back in business, and the cold war 2.0 was back on again.

Flynn did nothing wrong.

As somebody else pointed out, Flynn doesn’t seem to be too anxious to get this over with by accepting the delays. We will find out soon enough I guess.

“There are suggestions that Flynn’s 302 files were altered.”

Also “302s” are a complete farce. The FBI refuses to tape interviews thought they would file pattern and practices lawsuits against a local department that operated this way.
A 302 is an agent writing down his summary of the conversation.

Its a complete farce to claim you can “prove” someone lied by using a 302 as evidence.

We need a new Church commission and severe reform extreme oversight at the FBI, if it is not completely disbanded.

I agree. I don't think he was ever going to..

That is the do as I say, not as I do routine..

We need a new Church commission and severe reform extreme oversight at the FBI, if it is not completely disbanded.

With all the resignations and firings at DOJ/FBI something is rotten to the core. It was both political appointees and career civil servants involved with the malfeasance. I doubt DOJ would handover documents any faster to a Church like commission.

An announcement should be sent to all employees that “...due to the gross misconduct of former leaders we solicit any information that might shed light on this misconduct.”

If he is going to have a jail sentence, get it over with.
