What lawyer advises his client to plead guilty to something that is not a crime?

What lawyer then would not want a pardon for their client?

Totally bizarre

I was told by a lawyer, who is close in my circle, that I shouldn’t be surprised if Cohen pleads guilty to something that isn’t a crime at all. This was early lunchtime yesterday, only when we knew that something was coming from the Cohen camp.

I never knew this was a “thing” until she told me.

Cohen pleaded guilty to five counts of tax evasion; one count of making false statements to a financial institution; one count of willfully causing an unlawful corporation contribution; and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution. I'm pretty sure all those crimes exist.

This strikes me as legal malpractice.

There has to be something going on that's not public.
