Michael Cohen lawyer Lanny Davis: Trump "would be indicted and jailed" if he weren't president

Lanny Davis, the attorney for former Trump fixer Michael Cohen, said President Trump's team of lawyers are "witnesses against him" and prove that his client was directed to make payments on Mr. Trump's behalf to keep his alleged affairs quiet.

"It's not about evidence. It is definitive, indisputable that Donald Trump's lawyers said in a letter to the special counsel that Donald Trump directed – the same word that Michael Cohen used in court yesterday under oath – directed Michael Cohen to make illegal payments. It's not a dispute. It's not about credibility. His own lawyers used the word directed," Davis told "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday.

"Yes, he [Trump] committed a crime," Davis said. "He should be indicted. If he were not president he clearly would be indicted and jailed for that crime. Whether he can be

Exactly. The left has now moved on to skipping laws entirely and just declaring someone guilty. I cannot even count the headlines I read from last night to today that declared Trump had ordered Cohen to “commit a crime”. What crime? Paying a ho to shut her mouth. But that’s not a crime, but still Trump is guilty of committing a crime. Really. So now the left it seems can just point fingers and declare people guilty over phantom crimes, one of which is this Russian collusion. What legal statute was violated? Oh we don’t know, but Trump is guilty of Russian collusion.

I wouldn’t doubt if Mueller and the Clinton criminal cabal which is behind all this forced Cohen to hire Lanny

Lanny is going to look good hanging from the end of a rope.

Not a single mention of what Trump was thinking when he hired Cohen in the first place. It’s one thing to be unfamiliar with the buracracy in Washington; it’s another to have as your personal lawyer as man as unethical as Cohen.

Let’s put a stop to this stupidity ...

Release all the names of the Congressman who used taxpayer money to pay off their sexual scandals...

“I wouldn’t doubt if Mueller and the Clinton criminal cabal which is behind all this forced Cohen to hire Lanny”

I think you can be almost certain of that...or that Cohen realized that he needed to make amends and bow down to those who control the American legal system (Hillary’s allies) in order to get himself out of the worst by agreeing to go after Trump. The American legal system is stacked against Trump...he needs to go on offense and take it down directly.

Possible “inadequate representation” suit for Mr. Cohen to pursue. Let’s see what happens.

readign through the levin threads here on FR- apparently cohen made the payment, then submitted falsified reports to be reimbursed from the campaign- One would think that that would implicate cohen, not Trump- but the slimy left will likely spin this and cohen will perhaps claim he was under orders to do so in order to hush up the accusers so as not to hurt trump’s campaign- In order to make this into a ‘campaign violation’ This is the ONLY way they can claim that campaign finances were used illegally- and there will be no way to prove that trump didn’t order cohen to do that- it will be cohen’s word against Trump’s- and of course the msm will run with cohen’s claims as gospel truth-

And the Trump base needs to stop the lunatic left from taking the lead on this nonsense by reminding everyone that in 2013 Obama paid the largest fine in campaign violation history, $375,000.

I wonder what info the Q team has on Lanny Davis?

Was he fingered by President Trump?

Everything you said is so true. It’s time for Trump to take off the gloves and hit all these people where it hurts. I can’t for the life of me understand why he just keeps taking the hits and all he does is tweet. The notion that he’s waiting for before or after the midterms is wasting precious time. He needs to go for the jugular and stop all of this nonsense now.
With each passing day I come to despise Sessions more and more. Without his recusal none of this would be happening. I hope he gets his “bigly”.

I wonder if Hannity will tell us how much he “loves” Lanny Davis today?

When Cohen hired Davis who didn’t know what Cohen was going to do?

I called Scalise’s office as a Republican primary voter to ask why the R’s weren’t out in force defending Trump and pointing out the dems’ election meddling (fake dossier with links to hillary, wiretapping and planting spies in Trump campaign, etc.). The aide who answered the phone sounded older than an intern and would not let me speak. He said only constituents should call. Scalise does not belong in the leadership, then. The failure to stick up for Trump will hurt them in November.

Lanny Davis, the same person who was on tv 24/7 while Bill Clinton was in office telling us Bill Clinton was allowed to perjure himself under oath because it was about sex now wants to tell us that payments to mistresses should be disclosed on campaign form filings. Do these people ever think about their hypocrisy?

Remember?? 1999 - Just as the Senate is about to begin President Clinton’s impeachment trial in earnest, Mr. Clinton sent $850,000 to Paula Corbin Jones today to settle the sexual misconduct lawsuit that started it all.
