This is an exceptional article. I appreciate every word and every sentence uttered in it. When I read post like this, I get a smile on my face. The editorial boards in most of the media are occupied by comfortable theorists. They don’t feel the kind of life that we now experience every day.
I know someone who asked the IRS for the statute that required them to pay taxes on money that was exchanged for their labor and knowledge. He didn’t just ask in a private setting; he made a public statement about it, so the feds filed charges against him for failure to file and income tax return.
He was prosecuted by the Feds; he asked the IRS witness to cite the statute; the government objected to the question; the judge over-ruled the prosecutor; the IRS couldn’t cite the statute; the jury acquitted in under an hour.
