McCain made a career of advancing the Democrat Party agenda, with the media praising him all the way. McCain could also be counted on to continually attack Republicans.

McCain stood by silently and supportively while the Obama administration hollowed out the military, sent jobs overseas, funded and supported terrorism, gave billions of dollars to the Iranian terrorist regime and gave national security secrets to China, Iran and who knows who else.

McCain even helped when the Obama administration created and funded ISIS.

As a Senator, McCain was never a hero. Senator McCain was never a patriot.

I can't think of a single positive thing McCain did while he was in the Senate.

He sold out America so he would be popular with the corrupt media.

Because he hated conservatives as much as they do?

From the get-go, McCain was recruited by the leftist-progressive 'Deep State' global cabal to call himself a Republican for the purpose of spying on the Republican party for the Deep State DemonRats.

To answer the question in the headline, he worked really hard at winning the approval of the New York Times, WaPo, and CNN. It was his overriding goal, and he went after it with great tenacity, willing to do anything to reach his goal.

McCain's turning point was the 1987 Keating 5 scandal, where he was caught with 4 Democrats putting the fix in for a crooked Savings & Loan bigwig. Before that, McCain was so solid as a true conservative that he was one of very few who voted against the 1986 Amnesty Bill.

All the 4 Democrats were forced out of office but the Democrat-Media-Establishment saw the value of granting a pass to a Republican war hero. AND THEY HAVE OWNED HIM EVER SINCE!

Whenever they needed a Democrat defended or a Republican attacked, a globalist policy praised or a nationalist policy demonized they called on McCain. And they describe that as the epitome of “bipartisanship” and for doing it they called McCain a “maverick,” and even a hero.

My observation of McPain: Contrarian.

In his own mind he was the great debater, the ultimate authority of virtually everything. He thrived on contrarianism. Loved having his jacket on the back of a chair across the aisle while he debated members on the side of the aisle he was allegedly a member. He really enjoyed ticking people off.

He enjoyed being the center of attention, and used his assumed contrarianism to make himself that central figure in most everything he was involved.

He was a contrarian for the purpose to be recognized as somebody. May have been because so many in his family history were everything he wasn’t.

McCain was desperate to have the love of the press. He was like a dog getting a treat for each trick, and he always knew criticizing conservatives would get him a nice pat on the head. He didn’t even figure out the ploy when he was trashed by the press during his 2008 campaign against Obama. He tried to soften his message and rein in his running mate to get out of the dog house, but no dice, he was smacked with the rolled up newspaper and sent back into the cold. When Trump appeared, he found his best trick yet! This would surely get his ultimate reward, the true affection of his master, and a warm spot at the foot of the bed. But to get that spot, McCain betrayed his constituents, his party, and his country.

he was the MSM darling for eight years under Bush and was always the "Maverick" John McCain.

The day he lost the election was the last time you ever heard the MSM refer to him as "The Maverick".............

If, by the Left’s “logic”, one becomes a “great statesman” by standing up to, and openly opposing, one’s own Party... then who exactly are the Great Statesmen in their Party? Are there any, by their own standards?
