Feinstein is the first Democrat/Leftist on the stage, trying desperately to survive the November election (because the Left which now controls the Democrat Party is convinced she is not far enough Left to represent the Democrats).

Again, just keep in mind that this hearing is not really about Kavanaugh's confirmation (that's been decided and the ruse is just for public consumption), it's about posturing for the November election. Makes it easier to watch and listen.
