Actually strictly speaking that is the correct grammar. But nobody uses it that way so it sounds strange.

Actually it is not correct. She used the wrong case for the pronoun. She needed to use the objective case, not the subjective case. “Between” is a preposition. The pronoun representing this woman is an object of the preposition, so we use “her”, the objective case, not “she”, the subjective case.
