Memos written by Andrew McCabe, then the acting FBI director, say deputy attorney general Rod J. Rosenstein suggested he secretly record his talks with President Trump, and that Rosenstein discussed possibly trying to remove him from office, according to people familiar with the matter.
The account, first reported by the New York Times, paints Rosenstein as so concerned in May 2017 in the wake of Trump’s firing of then-FBI director James B. Comey that he contemplated secretly recording conversations with the president. He also initiated discussions about invoking the 25th amendment, which details how the Cabinet can decide whether a president is no longer able to discharge the duties of the job, one of the McCabe memos said.
McCabe’s lawyer, Michael Bromwich, said in a statement that his client “drafted memos to memorialize significant discussions he had with high level officials and preserved them so he would have an accurate, contemporaneous record of those discussions. When he was interviewed by the special counsel more than a year ago, he gave all of his memos — classified and unclassified — to the special counsel’s office. A set of those memos remained at the FBI at the time of his departure in late January 2018. He has no knowledge of how any member of the media obtained those memos.

Rosenstein didn't exactly refute it. This is what he said,
“The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” he said. “I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda."
"But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment,” he added."
What is inaccurate and factually incorrect? As far as the 25th Amendment is concerned, Rosenstein did not address whether he felt the same way at the time he made his "joke" on May 16, 2017.
This is a non-denial, denial. I believe McCabe's contemporaneous memo.
I think Trump has been so sabotaged and undermined by the deep state, not to mention bad advice from RINOs, that he is seriously weakened. He is doing the best he can for us, and I am very grateful. But I think the deep state is just to entrenched and too powerful. Further, I think, that half of Trump’s base has deserted him by believing this Q nonsense. Nothing good has come from this Q business. All you have to do to know that Q is a bad actor is to look at what has been done to Jerome Corsi. Obama and Kerry are certainly avenged. Listen you Q people, if not for Corsi, John Kerry would probably have been president. Listen you Q people, Jerome Corsi was the well-documented voice crying in the wilderness about Obama’s questionable citizenship. Listen you Q-people, if Sesssions was to be trusted and was doing his job, Alabama would not have a democrat in his senate seat. Trump needs to be believed. Trump needs to be supported. Stop supporting the deep state by telling us to “think.” We are thinking!
Probably why Rosenstein tried to see Trump twice and was refused, to explain this. He had to have been given a heads up by the NYT about the article so they could not get sued. They would not have blindsided him. No wonder Trump would not see him.
So the source for Woodward’s book is Rosenstein? And Rosenstein is the coward? I could be wrong . . .

Trump was right, he has not Attorney General as Sessions has recused himself on much and Rosenstein has just been proven to not be doing his job.
I was just listening to Fox Business, and the talking head on the panel referred to, “Lisa Page, MCCABE’S GIRLFRIEND at the time.” Huh? She certainly does get around. From McCabe to Strzok?

yeah, i don’t think you need to fret too much about it ... all based on anonymous sources as told to the NY Slimes ... fake news until otherwise actually proven true ...
I have a guess. Remember a couple of months ago how Mark Warner of the Senate Intel Committee, was shooting his mouth off about all the stuff that he and Mueller knew, but nobody else did? And remember this week how the Dem members of the "Gang of 8" (which includes Warner) wrote a letter to Coates, Rosenstein and Wray saying that they had better live up to their "verbal assurances" to keep the classified info classified, or else? And remember how it was Senate Intel Staffer Woolfe who was feeding classified info to his little honeypot at the NYSlimes?
Now add it up: Warner got the McCabe memos from Mueller and leaked them to the Slimes because he wanted to paint Rosenstein as the villain in the coup plot, rather than McCabe (as that is the slant of the Slimes story). And why did Warner do this? Because Rosenstein folded, and the info that Trump wanted to come out is coming out, but as Trump tweeted today, its coming out in the expedited IG report, not released by the WH.
So...McCabe to Mueller to Warner to Wolfe to NYT.
Wolfe has been arrested, so he’s out of it, but I think there are other Dem staffers on the Senate Intel Committee who provided this to the Slimes.
The washington pest, mcabe, rosenstein and their pathetic ilk are all LIARS. Believe them at your own peril.
The rest of the joke is when we have wiped out all the bad ones, you scuttle the ship. There are no good ones.

Rosenstein must have the wrong reading glasses on. McCabe isn’t exactly an anonymous source
The real question is why is WApo and the NYT pushing this story?
McCabe afraid of becoming one of Ros’s fall guys?
