Someone whose opinion I respect thinks that Flake may be playing a role in a very clever trolling operation designed to keep us enraged so that we storm the midterm election in overwhelming numbers. The idea seems outrageous, until you think about how much he has us all pissed off. And pissed off people vote. Fat, happy complacent voters stay home.
