Wow! This man had no idea that this vote would fall on his daughter’s wedding day. This is not on him. It is on the jerks that pulled all of this nonsense. No one would have thought this would happen. Thus, everything that can be done to make sure Justice Kavanaugh is confirmed, is being done. This is NOT Daines’ fault. People make it sound like he is purposely trying to derail the nomination. That would be the liberals, not him.
I imagine, if Murk backs out, then Daines will be on a private jet in no time and be there to vote. I refuse to blast this man for wanting to participate in his daughter’s wedding. Sheesh.
The vote should have taken place earlier, but now it doesn’t matter who’s to blame for that. It is on Daines to make it back to cast his vote, and put the wedding on hold, or miss it. It’s not some kind of ultimate sacrifice like some here seem to think. It’s nothing when put into context and compared to what others have sacrificed for our country.
We all realize the wedding plans were made months ago.
But this vote is EXTREMELY important to the entire nation. This man is needed to vote in favor of Judge Kavanaugh. It is his elected duty to vote. Afterwards, he can fly home and enjoy the wedding.
Sol his daughter is getting married, the date and time can't be changed, but his fault or not, that insanity has ruled the day in the Senate, it is still his DUTY and RESPONSIBILITY to be in D.C. to vote! He has been playing games: will he/won't he, maybe yes, maybe no, perhaps, "SUNDAY IS ALSO IFFY" ( he has said and what the bleeding HELL makes the day AFTER the wedding SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO important and urgent? ) for days.
He is NOT a necessary participant at this wedding; his being there won't make it illegitimate/null & void!
Emergencies pop up all the time, for different kinds of jobs and those people show up...no matter what, or are docked pay and or fired!
WHAT MAKES DAINES SOOOOOOOOOOO "SPECIAL", TO SIMPLY PLAY THE GAMES HE HAS AND OBVIOUSLY STILL IS PLAYING?
He isn't dying, there's NO emergency that he MUST deal with, yet oh gee, it's his daughter's wedding and that should take preference over his duties and this nation's best interests? Not as far as I'm concerned, it isn't!
And who gives a flying whatever, as to what Lisa M does or doesn't claim or do now? That's NO EXCUSE for him shirking his duty!
I could see a true patriot like Rush stationing his private jet at the Montana airport nearest the wedding site ....just in case.
