Many old folks today were left leaning useful idiots 50 odd yrs ago, the hippies and yippies who had all the answers but never understood the questions. The ones who drove around in battered rusted out Volvos and VW Beetles held together with peace symbols and QUESTION AUTHORITY bumper stickers. Even though many of them, myself included at an early age, came to our senses, for those that never grew up the chickens are coming home to roost, to the detriment of the rest of us.

We are the institutional memory of the United States, we know how things really were, how people treated each other, and how we felt pretty darned good about being Americans and we enjoyed and celebrated our freedoms.
