CIUDAD HIDALGO, Mexico (AP) — Despite Mexican efforts to stop them at the border, a growing throng of Central American migrants resumed their advance toward the U.S. border early Sunday in southern Mexico.
Their numbers swelled to about 5,000 overnight and at first light they set out walking toward the Mexican town of Tapachula, 10 abreast in a line stretching approximately a mile (1.5 kilometers).
It was not immediately clear where the additional travelers had materialized from since about 2,000 gathered on the Mexican side Saturday night. They seemed likely to be people who had been waiting on the bridge over the Suchiate River or in the Guatemalan town of Tecun Uman and who decided to cross during the night.

They’re not seeking asylum. Their seeking the wealth and free living they heard about in the US. Asylum in Mexico happens and has been in existence formally since 2016.
So why do they walk across a country that has asylum from their home country unless they are not seeking asylum but truthfully trying to get an easier life? That’s not asylum, that’s federal trespass. That’s like needing a car so they walk past the one they can afford to get the expensive one given to them being untruthful. Aren’t they just stealing it because they can’t afford it and are lying to get it?

I agree with your.pound except closing all air travel. I suggest that only American citizes\legal residents can fly back in to America and only non-violent can fly out.

Go to an American national team soccer game against Mexico or a Central or South American team, and you often see as many or sometimes more supporters of the other team than of the US - IN THE US. They’ve started moving some games to venues away from areas where there are concentrations of fans from Mexico etc. so that the US team can actually enjoy home advantage from the fans.
Sports and who you support are a fairly good indicator of where your loyalties are.

They should be told up front that not only will they NOT be permitted in the United States that they will not be sheltered while waiting for their case to be heard. Mexico, which has let them in, can have them. They can open refugee camps inside of Mexico.
These people should ask for permission to enter now, weeks before they even get to the border. It should be up to us to say yes or no and that should be the final word. Their needs or circumstances do not give them any right to impose themselves on us. Otherwise they should be repulsed at the border with force of arms if necessary.
Deport and seize the assets of all illegal aliens already here too.
