FBI: Packages sent to Dems, CNN taken to Quantico for analysis

The FBI said Wednesday that it has sent five packages believed to contain explosive devices to the bureau’s laboratory in Quantico, Va., for further analysis.

In a rare public statement, the FBI described the five suspicious packages sent to CNN, former President Obama, Hillary Clinton and other Democrats as “similar in appearance” and containing “potentially destructive devices.”

President Trump announced earlier Wednesday that he had ordered a “major federal investigation” into the attempted attacks, condemning “political violence” and describing the bomb threats as “abhorrent.”

“The full weight of our government is being deployed to conduct this investigation and bring those responsible for these despicable acts to justice,” Trump said in remarks from the East Room before an event on combatting opioids.

The Secret Service confirmed Wednesday morning that it had intercepted a suspicious package sent to the Clinton residence in Chappaqua, N.Y., the previous day and another sent to the Obamas's home in Washington, D.C., early Wednesday.

Similar packages were sent to billionaire philanthropist George Soros on Monday and to CNN on Wednesday, with the latter addressed to former CIA director John Brennan, who has made regular appearances on the network but is a contributor on MSNBC.

Another package was mailed to former Attorney General Eric Holder but it never reached his address and was instead reportedly sent to its return address, which was a Florida office of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.).

The packages are said to have contained homemade explosive devices, with authorities in New York describing the device mailed to CNN as a pipe bomb.

All five packages have been sent to Quantico for further analysis, as authorities search for suspects.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday afternoon that the investigation is of “highest priority” for the bureau.

“We have committed the full strength of the FBI’s resources and, together with our partners on our Joint Terrorism Task Forces, we will continue to work to identify and arrest whoever is responsible for sending these packages,” Wray said in a statement.

He encouraged those with any information to contact the FBI.

The FBI also released photos of the packages, which were all mailed in manila envelopes and had a return address of “Debbie Wasserman Shultz [sic],” referring to the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman.

The bureau noted that it is “possible” more packages were mailed at other locations. Officials remain on high alert in the meantime, particularly in New York City, where the governor has ordered additional law enforcement personnel to airports, subways, and other transit systems.

Loretta Lynch didn’t receive one of these presents? How sexist! Why Eric Holder but not Lynch?

The FBI is going to play a game called "I WONDER HOW MANY PHOTOS I CAN TAKE OF THIS BOMB BEFORE THE TIMER GOES OFF?"

"potentially containing destructive devices"

Many a strange box or abandoned briefcase has been blown to pieces for this reason - "potentially".

The CNN PACKAGE WAS NEVER MAILED!!!

Look at the picture...
1. stamps are not cancelled
2. It would not have been delivered since it would be considered anonymous mail
3. affixed postage is 3.00 starting price of 1st class package mail is 3.50, again not deliverable due to insufficient postage

These problems would have been detected at the receiving office, processing plant, delivering office, or carrier.

Fake mail, fake story

Where is the pipe in this alleged pipe bomb? Whatever that white, cardboard box-looking thing is in the center, it appears to be inset into the area where there should be a steel pipe. Wile E Coyote would be embarrassed by something this amateurish.

The fake bomb also has a fake clock. Not to power anything (it couldn’t) but to make it look good. For what purpose? If sent by mail you’d need to set a timer ... To what time.

Bingo. This is a political stunt by some dirty-tricks actor for the Dems.

RE: Predictions:

"1. The FBI, in a dazzling display of careful and methodical investigation, will be unable to complete the investigation until after the election
2. The FBI will be unable to develop any evidence to identify the bomber(s).
3. Despite No.2 above, the FBI will magically be able to describe the motivations of the unidentifiable criminal in complete detail."

Any real evidence accidentally uncovered will be withheld, redacted, or secreted away for 50 years.

Maybe tracking dots could be used to confirm the source printer after a suspect has been identified, but its highly doubtful the government can identify the suspect simply by reading secret tracking dots on a page of print.

What I found interesting is why the choice of Wasserman-Schultz? I mean she was the DNC chairperson but no longer. I suspect the mailer had some particular gripe with her and that suggests someone in her district.

A Floiduh Bernie Sanders supporter or really dumb redneck too poor to use his good endcaps?
