There should be NO provisional ballots. If you can’t prove you are eligible to vote on election day, then you can’t vote. You’ve had plenty of time to get registered and prove legality to vote, well before the election. If you don’t do it, that’s on you.
I would like to see a breakdown of just how many provisional ballots wind up being from Democrats vs Republicans. In all the years I’ve been voting, I’ve never seen anyones ballot be held as provisional.

You have to know that EVER “provisional” ballot is counted as the default practice, and that any contesting of a ballot is done through a protracted legal battle.
Forget the rules that follow-up by the voter is necessary. It isn’t done because it was never intended.
