FULL TITLE: 'We Really Muffed The Error Margins': Global Warming Report Rendered Worthless After Scientists Point Out Flaw In Ocean-Warming Survey

A major climate change report has been corrected, as two scientists found a glaring error in an ocean-warming report. The original report was alarming; oceans are warming at a rate 60 percent higher than what was first reported by a United Nations panel. The world is ending, folks. It’s The Day After Tomorrow, except that it’s not. The oceans aren’t warning at that rate. In fact, the range is so great that experts can no longer stand by their original statistic. They “muffed” the error margins. A mathematician caught the error and cooled the temperatures of this survey (via NRO):

The paper, published October 31 in the scientific journal Nature, suggested ocean temperatures have risen roughly 60 percent higher than estimated by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). But, after errors in the authors’ methodology were identified, they realized their findings were roughly in line with those of the IPPC, after all.

The researchers’ alarming findings were uncritically reported by numerous mainstream-media outlets but Nic Lewis, a mathematician and popular critic of the consensus on man-made climate change, quickly identified errors.

[…]

Ralph Keeling, a climate scientist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography who co-authored the paper, said he and his partner, Laure Resplandy of Princeton, quickly realized the implications of their mistake once Lewis pointed it out.

[…]

After correcting their mistake, Keeling said their research indicates oceans are warming only slightly faster than previously thought, not dramatically faster as they initially reported. Keeling said the miscalculation was made when they were calculating their margin of error, which had a larger range (10 to 70 percent) than they initially believed.or margins.”

We were told in 2000 that our grandchildren would never see snow.

That’s okay, the original fraudulent report will be cited by hysterics for a decade. Mission accomplished.

But But OwlGore said the science was “rock solid”... you know... like his head.

Yep. Retraction will be printed in Ladies Home Circle, bottom of page 102, right after “Best Thanksgiving Squash Recipes.”

We were told in the 70s that we would see nothing but snow and ice.

Funny. Scientists were the last to know they were wrong.

They should:
clean her
sand blast her down to bare metal
apply Bondo
sand
bake
apply more Bondo
primer coat
wet sand
primer again
and then lay down 2 coats of red
bake
light sand
go over with a green tinted clear-coat

Then I'd mount some chrome reveals with baby moons on her.

They are establishing a theory, and then doing everything they can to prove that theory right.

Which is opposite what REAL scientists (and mathematicians) do.

November snow was reported in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. In northern Mississippi, two people were killed and many of the 46 passengers injured when a tour bus flipped on its side due to the slick conditions.

Snow and bitterly cold temperatures were also reported over the previous two days in portions of Texas and Oklahoma.

The bulls-eye for the heaviest snow overnight Wednesday and into Thursday could be the St. Louis area, where up to 6 inches is possible, according to AccuWeather.

Extended forecast

I read elsewhere that the sun is in a long-term reduction in solar energy (solar minimum). Estimates have its energy emissions continuing to decline through at least 2020. The oceans are nothing more than a major buffering heat sink. The sun is the sole controlling determiner for life on this planet and there is not a damn thing man can do to regulate it.

It was obviously racism that caused real scientists to check their work.
