Tiroude and Gislyne are Haitians by birth and migrants by necessity.

The couple’s 18-month-old daughter, however, was born in Fort Lauderdale, and – as an American by birth – she is part of a growing number of US citizens seeking refuge in Canada.

In 2017, some 2,550 US citizens applied for asylum in Canada – an increase of more than sixfold from 2016 and the largest such number since at least 1994, according to data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Americans were the third largest contingent of asylum seekers in 2017, after Haitians and Nigerians. The vast majority are children born to Haitian parents, according to experts.

None of those Red pinkos have opted to live under a Communist ruled nation, either, even though their fellow traveler Hanoi Jane Fonda insisted that everyone would love living under Communism if they only knew what it really is.

>>So what exactly is the definition of asylum these days?

those crossing our bottom border don’t meet the definition of asylum. They’ve been offered asylum by Mexico and they turned it down instead opting to Move On to the United States.

“I’m hungry!”
“Here’s a sandwich.”
“No Grey Poupon. I’ll wait for something else.”

What utter BS. You are going to brand a whole country over a few a minority of jerkoffs. You need to get your head out of your butt.

At 18 months old, that US citizen can’t even pronounce asylum let alone ask for it.

They are in sort of a Catch 22 because the US and Canada have signed a treaty stating they will not consider asylum claims from each others’ citizens.

Dude, it’s cold there. I know, I’m from there. If you came from Mexico, where would you rather be, Arizona or Texas or Toronto or Montreal in January? Tongue in cheak friend. I’ve been in the US LEGALLY for 25 years and have thought about going back to Canada for business and family reasons (my widowed mother is getting older and it would be good to be close).

Having said that, things have changed dramatically there since I left. There has been so much immigration from sh*thole countries that there are ghettos and no-go zones for cops. You used to be able to walk the streets of downtown Toronto or Montreal at 3am and anyone you ran into would say hello or bonjeur. Now you have to worry about getting mugged or killed.

The bizarre part is that the Canucks are gullible enough to think that anyone would need refuge from America. As if there isn't a comfortable place somewhere for anyone and everyone in our manifestly diverse socio-economic spectrum, regardless how wackadoodle they might be.

Snoop Dogg said he was moving to Canada.

But, the problem is that In April 2007, he was sentenced to a three-year suspended sentence, five years’ probation, and was required to perform 800 hours of community service after pleading no contest to two felony charges of drug and gun possession by a convicted felon.

He can’t even enter Canada to visit because he is a felon, let alone move there.

We have felons and even already deported criminals seeking ‘asylum’ here. Canada needs to open their borders and STFU

I feel for you buddy. I spent most of my youthful years in eastern North Dakota and NW Minnesota plus travels up to Winnipeg, all of which make even Toronto seem like the banana belt by comparison.

When the internet first begin streaming back in the 1990s those Crazy Canucks used to broadcast a program called "Naked News" from Toronto where hot babes would disrobe as they read the news. Looking was free and without consequences.
